Red face Scents similiar to LeMale but more...modern?

I like the scent of LeMale but it smells dated to me. Is there any cologne that is a modern take on this classic. I read that Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme smells like a 2012 LeMale. I read that Fahrenheit Absolute may be a good choice as well. What do you guys think?

    Fahrenheit Absolute? No way!
You can try Custo Man and RancÚ - Francois Charles (the more refined choice).

Not that it smells similar, but Prada Luna Rossa does share notes of mint & lavender, & replaces bergamot with orange which is a similar type of citrus. No vanilla though.

and I agree with easyfish, Fahrenheit absolute smells nothing like Le Male.

I don't know about modern, but the following frags, IMO, are similar to Le Male but better. In ascending order of superiority they are:

    Hypnose Homme: Lancome
    1725 Casanove: Histoires de Parfum
    Reflection Man: Amouage
    Invasion Barbare: Parfums MDCI

Once you get past Hypnose (which arguably is no better than LeMale, just maybe a little more grown up), the frags are much better (and of course a lot more expensive) than Le Male...but still similar.

I don't think Custo Man smells anything like Le Male. My choice would be Reflection Man by Amouage which is somewhat similar, but more refined.

Hmmm...I've never considered Le Male as dated. Maybe this alleged datedness is due to its powder, which imparts a barbershop feel. Since barbershop can be see as retro, and barbershop is an inherent part of Le Male's structure, you probably won't find too many fragrances like Le Male that are very modern. Maybe try Lombre Fauve by Parfumerie Generale: it has marries powder, patchouli, and amber into a simultaneously weird and comforting structure. Not exactly "modern," though.

I think Cuba Gold smells better, last ages and costs peanuts

Maybe the Fahrenheit you were thinking of is Fahrenheit 32? It would be the closest to Le Male, but is more floral based.

It doesn't smell dated at all, its a quite youthful fragrance IN MY opinion...

Cuba Gold is similar, with a little less vanilla, but more tonka and chocolate.

Midnight in Paris. ~I can't believe nobody has mentioned this one. Without the bergamot cologne opening, MiP has the same mid and base. There is an updated accord that I think is a little more modern, but it is otherwise 85% Le Male.

I can kinda see the comparison, but MIP has a distinct leather note, unlike LeMale, which becomes very cloying to me. So beware of MIP if you don't like leather notes.
