Oh, I have realised that I only have one, Chergui, and I wore it yesterday. Oh, go on then, I'll wear it again today. Happy Friday everyone.

    Good morning/afternoon/evening, fellow synchers.

I only have PG's to choose from (and only samples at that) -- Querelle? Papyrus de Ciane? Coze? -- Not sure which at this point, though I'll be some variation of funky green, no?

    Have a great weekend, all.

    edit: It's Papyrus de Ciane.

It was very hard to decided just what to wear ... I had so many choices! I ended up wearing the amazing Fumerie Turque by Christopher Sheldrake today. I loved FT from the very first sniff ... a friend had sent me a small sample from one of the beautiful bell bottles, as it was a Paris exclusive at the time. I lusted after it so hard and hoped it would be one of the limited time additions to the export line and when that happened, I called Barneys the very day FT was available and had them send me a bottle! I'm so happy to have it in my collection. I sort of think Christopher Sheldrake is some sort of fragrance genius ... I adore so many of his scents!

Fumerie Turque notes: tobacco, leather, styrax, patchouli, rum, white honey, beeswax, currant, Tonka bean, vanilla, jasmine petals and Turkish rose

    I've trademarked the color bleu

Friday sync makes you think- Now why do I have NO Pierre Guillaume in my collection? I can't even say I'm familiar with his creations. Must rectify.

Sheldrake = Uncle Serge = Sarrasins for me. It runs counter to the wintry weather, but in an interesting fashion.

I have been posting links to this thread on Facebook over the last few months. Slightly confusing situation as I made a note of what was coming up and posted about English perfumery a couple of weeks back. But I'll do it again for this week!

    Morning, dear synchies!
I wonder, is there a distinct style to English Perfumery? Anyway, tuning in with Penhaligon's Lily & Spice.

    Hi everyone!
Actually remembered & able to synch. today - 1953 EdT - Pell Wall.

Named for the year of Her Majesty's Coronation and including most of the ingredients used in the preparation of the Coronation anointing oil since the 12th Century, including ambergris, rose, jasmine, orange flower, cinnamon and benzoin, with (synthetic) civet & musk.

So many English companies now owned by Estee Lauder etc, its hard to find one.

Okay went with Penhaligons, vintage Hammam Bouquet. The juice is a gorgeous deep amber colour now and the rose jasmine WOW!!!!

Note to self (AGAIN!) remember to explore Pell Wall perfumes....remember to explore Pell Wall Perfumes...... I have intended to for ages and shame on me for not doing it sooner.

So today, well actually last week. I didn't pay full attention *blush*. I was only thinking about Mr Sheldrake. If I had realised that we were also doing Guillame and Wasser I would have certainly given a nod to Thierry's Shalimar Parfum Initial because it's terrific. I could also have played with some of the same samples as Dave, although, like knit I have no Perfumerie G's in my collection but I do have Pierre's Esvedra for Laboratorio Olfattivo and I oove that. Did that all make sense?

Anyhoo, back to today and it must be Penhaligons "Juniper Sling", now that is very English. What a lovely name. It has this fantastic juniper opening, very quickly overtaken by black pepper and then an ambery leathery dry down.

B Scent by Lush. At the margins of a 'sample' since it's a 10ml mini. I expect I pulled it out because it was the biggest thing in the bag. Fennel overload!

Smoker's corner—so many choices! Miss Balmain, for her "fond du ashtray" vibe? Or the cigar shop memories of Yatagan yet again? I may have a smidge of the SL Fumerie Turque sample a kind basenote-ist sent to me. Then there's Weil Kipling. Or Slumberhouse Jeke, whose lapsang souching note is smoked tea. Choices, choices (: I'm teaching today, so I think I'll go with Miss Balmain.
