    Default Top 5 Notes

What are everyone's top 5 favorite notes in fragrances? And please post what fragrances carry those notes, so maybe others who enjoy the similar or even different could try these fragrances out.

    1.Coffee
    2.Caramel
    3.Bergamont
    4.Melon
    5.Grass/greens

If you like these notes, you might enjoy...Bond No.9 "H.o.t Always", "A.Men original and or Pure Malt" Bond No. 9 New Haarlem, Polo Double Black, Bond No. 9 Coney Island, GIT, Givenchy Play Sport and Armani Code Summer

I know some of these on my list are rather typical, but if I don't say these now someone else will.

I've got a rather limited frame of reference, but Bulgari Pour Homme comes instantly to mind for tea, and I'm told that Agent Provacateur Strip has a distinct tea note as well (my sample hasn't arrived yet.) Dior Pure Poison has jasmine and gardenia; Diptyque Olene is a lovely jasmine soliflore. Both Burberry London and Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte have a distinct tangerine note in the opening. And amber is in practically every base of every feminine ever made, it seems, including (I think) most of those I've mentioned above already. What can I say, I'm a sucker for an amber and sandalwood base.

cocoa - LIDGE has my absolute favorite take on cocoa
vanilla - Tobacco Vanille does it right for me
citrus - lemon, lime, orange, tangerine...it really doesn't matter, as long as it's done right and smells natural - Terre d'hermes, Creed Original Vetiver
tea - Gucci Pour Homme II, Creed Silver Mountain Water
Woods - sandalwood, cedar, oak...again, doesn't really matter, as long as it's blended well. I will say that the mysore sandalwood used in many Creed's is something I've always liked.

honorable mention goes to Petitgrain - I've learned from exploring notes of many fragrances I like, that petitgrain seems to often come up, especially in some of my favorite openings.

This is why I stalk your reviews. We have quite similar tastes. I should have put sandalwood on mine. **love**

Er, I forgot to note fragrances along with my notes. Here:

Tuberose: Annick Goutal's Tuberose (pure soliflore, contains a high-proportion of the floral essence itself); Robert Piquet's Fracas (legendary tuberose scent); Annick Goutal's Gardenia Passion (more tuberose than gardenia) D&G's la Roue de la Fortune (something a little more cheap, cheerful and synthetic with a lovely gourmand edge); Prada Infusion d'Tuberose (Infusion d'Iris' less popular sister)

Rose: Annick Goutal's Rose Absolu and Montale's Highness Rose (the two greatest roses ever, for me); Azzaro Jetlag (fresh & spicey masculine scent with a solid tea rose presence); Caron Pour un Femme (Rose Incense)

Vanilla: Molinard's Vanille (pure, foody vanilla, sweet and tasty) Annick Goutal's Vanille Exquise (beautifully naturel milky, nutty vanilla with none of the sugar-cookie smell found in more gourmand scents) Joop! Homme (explosion of syrupy vanilla and in-your-face spices, love it or hate it) Guerlain SDV (well-blended, high quality vanilla-and-booze)

Rosewood: Zino by Davidoff (rose, rosewood and lots of other goodies in this masculine classic) Chopard's Madness (pink pepper explosion over, and fading into rosewood) Worth Pour Homme vintage (gorgeous and natural notes of rosewood in the heart of this classic masculine powerhouse) Heaven by Chopard (lavender and rosewood)

Patchouli: Givenchy Gentleman (a classic powerhouse with honey and patchouli) Molinard's Vanille Patchouli (Vanilla & Patchouli) Giorgio for Men (often compared with Givenchy Gentleman) Bottega Veneta (just hit the shelves here, gorgeous patchouli notes)
