Default dumbest question of the day....what PALM are they talking about in LAVENDER PALM by

    TOM FORD?

Tried it and it just smells odd to me.

A "greasy" lavender, if that makes any sense.

Not crazy about it. Same with Neroli Portofino, why use PORTOFINO, what does that imply?

As far as Neroli Portifino, I don't know what Portifino implies, but it sure does smell pretty good. Especially in the spring and summer.

Probably has more to do with Portifino in Italy then anything else.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the image they're trying to conjure up...sunny, cool, refreshing, tropical?

    I dunno, I haven't smelled it.

The palm I put to my forehead for you asking this!

Just teasing....I'm not really sure. I believe there is a palm plant, such that they make cooking oil from. In any event, I did NOT like that fragrance at all, and I like lavender

Not sure about the palm part. The TF website claims it contains a palm leaf accord. As for Portofino, it is a famous cologne-making area in area and it appears in the names of several such concoctions.

I remember it being clean rather than greazy, like a light breeze through the palm trees.

I automatically assumed Portofino is used in the name because it's a glamorous, expensive beach resort in Italy. It suggests elegance, money, etc.
