Thread: Your Favorite House
I couldn't post them all, so I posted the biggest most popular ones.
Ugh. Creed? Seriously?
Caron, Guerlain, Tauer
There are no answers, only choices. (Stanislav Lem)
It's a tie for me, I do love Creed, they make top notch fresh fragrances, my preferred house for the warmer weather. Tom Ford makes some of my favorite orientals, lots of them are my favorite scents for the colder weather.
Current top 5:
1. Puredistance M
2. Kilian Apple Brandy
3. Amouage Fate Man
4. Parfums de Marly Galloway
5. Naomi Goodsir Bois d'Ascese
Serge Lutens, L'Artisan.....for the time being.
While they may not be the most original choices, both seem worth being familiar with.
But now that summer's on the way, I can understand why people might say Creed.
damn i forgot tom ford
Snarky is as snarky does.
Guerlain, Caron, Chanel, YSL, Dior, de Nicolai, Hermes, Cartier, Knize, Jacques Bogart, Comme des Garcons, Montale

I have the most number of frags from Creed and YSL if that counts.
WHERE'S MY HERMES?!?!?! or my second choice, Frederic Malle!
I really like Parfums de Nicolai, Caron, Creed and Tom Ford but Maison Francis Kurkdjian is my #1 right now.
I don't have any preferred house.
If it smells good I prefer it, if it doesn't smell good I don't prefer it.
Right now, I am really enjoy the old world scents by Santa Maria Novella. They really bring me back in time.
***My favourite from my collection***
-------- Amouage Tribute Attar
------ Serge Lutens: Ambre Sultan
-------- Les Exclusifs de Chanel: Sycamore
------ Amouage: Fate Man
-------- Amouage: Epic Man
------ Tom Ford Private Blend: Noir de Noir
-------- Terre D'Hermès Pure Parfum
------ EDP FM: Carnal Flower
-------- Neela Vermire Creations: Trayee
------ Dior: Leather Oud
------- Hermèssence: Ambre Narguilé
Don't have a favorite but especially like Galimard, Montale & Micallef
Divine. Any time they put out a new fragrance, I am interested to try it just because it's a Divine, no matter how it's marketed or what the advertised notes are. There's no other house for which that's true.
Current Top Five:
1. Bois des Iles--Chanel
2. George Sand--Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
3. L'Ame Soeur--Divine
4. Violet Blonde--Tom Ford
5. Santal Blush--Tom Ford
Dior (DH, DHI, Fahrenheit, Fahrenheit Absolute, Hypnotic Poison) closely followed by Mugler (Alien, A Men, Pure Malt, Taste of Fragrance, Angel) and YSL (M7, Opium PH, Body Kouros).
TOP 3 hot weather:
1. Gucci Pour Homme II
2. Lalique Encre Noire
3. Creed Aventus
TOP 3 cold weather:
1. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
2. Chanel Coromandel
3. Dior Homme

FAVORITES - Xerjoff Nio, Xerjoff 1861, Profumum Roma Acqua Viva, Neil Morris for Takashimaya, Sonoma Scent Studio Champagne de Bois, Terre d'Hermes parfum, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Helmut Lang EDP, Calvin Klein Obsession for Men (vintage), Bond No.9 I Love NY M.E., Acqua di Parma Intensa Oud and Slumberhouse Jeke
Most houses have at least one or two good scents and I have some from each house mentioned. Also Love Serge Lutens, Montale and Hermes. I strike Creed for inconsistencies between batches, longevity problems and insulting prices.
1. Amouage Epic man
2. Dior Leather Oud
3. Perris Monte Carlo Oud Imperial Black
4. Le Labo Patchouli 24
5. Amouage Opus VII
6. Byredo Bullion
7. Norma Kamali Incense
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
Chanel, for me.
Simply by the numbers: Creed(7), Burberry(5), Yves Saint Laurent(4)
By current preference: Caron, Acqua di Parma
1. Le 3me Homme - Caron
2. Yatagan - Caron
3. Van Cleef & Arples Pour Homme
4. Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme
5. Kouros - YSL
6. L'Anarchiste - Caron
7. Xeryus - Givenchy
8. V.I.P. Special Reserve - Giorgio Beverly Hills
9. The Dreamer - Versace
10. Nobile - Gucci
Among the ones you listed I'd say Guerlain and Chanel

Tough and its impossible for me to pick just one! Recently fell in love with frederic malle though
Current Top 5:
1. Frederic Malle L'eau d'Hiver
2. Tom Ford Noir de Noir
3. Dior Homme / Dior Homme Intense
4. Thierry Mugler A*Men Pure Havane / Pure Malt
5. Creed Aventus / Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Frederic Malle. I have tested a few and they are all winners. Such a pity they are so expensive
For me, a close tie between Chanel, Guerlain, YSL and Dior
Guerlain by a mile.
Editions de Parfum Frédéric Malle would be my pick among the modern houses for a seriously comprehensive quality collection.

I couldn't choose just one. favorites include:
Serge Lutens > Parfumerie Generale > L'Artisan Parfumeur > Creed > Montale > Guerlain > Maître Parfumeur et Gantier
Order may vary according to day and season
Kurt smells like Teen Spirit
I like individual fragrances rather than houses but my current favourites (because I like a large number of their fragrances) are Histoires de Parfums, Lutens and Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier.
It's a tie between Dior and Mugler.
I chose Chanel based upon their Exclusives line. The Chanel Exclusives are really nice as a whole and separately. However, like most others in Basenotes, I have a couple of scents from many different houses. Guelains Exclusive line is very nice as well.
Five that I am enjoying right now
1) Sel de Vetiver by The Different Company
2) Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain
3) Bois des Iles by Chanel
4) Devin by Aramis
5) Coromandel by Chanel
Comme Des Garcons
serge lutens > diptyque > parfums d'empire
Make mine Amouage. For designer, no doubt it's Dior.
I'm torn between a small handful of houses not on your list...
Mona di Orio, O'Driù, Frédéric Malle and Micallef
Current Top Favorites:
1) Portrait of a Lady original formula (EdP Frédéric Malle)
2) Giorgio for Men vintage/V.I.P. for Men (Giorgio Beverly Hills)
3) Dia Man vintage edt (Amouage)
4) Anat Fritz Original Formula and Classical (Anat Fritz) - tie
4) Lalfeorosa (O'driù) - tie
6) Les Nombres d'Or Vetyver (Mona di Orio)
7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
8) Tzora (Anat Fritz)
9) Javanese Patchouli (Zegna) - tie
9) Monsieur de Givenchy vintage (Givenchy) - tie
9) Coeur de Vetiver Sacré (L'Artisan) - tie
9) X for Men (Clive Christian) - tie
9) Patou pour Homme Privé (Jean Patou) - tie
9) Oud Shamash (The Different Company) - tie
It's Dior by a wide margin for me. Also really like Mugler. Creed & Tom Ford too, but some are really expensive and not worth that much.
p.s. I think the Chanel house is rubbish. Only like Chanel Allure from their male line, the others are "meh" for me.
My sales thread
Guerlain makes both of those. 'Nuff said.

"As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round."
Amouage, Tom Ford, Frederic Malle and Dior.
