Thread: Hanae Mori HIM
I was at Macy's and I tryed it on. I got 8 compliments on it. They were all from the same salespeople that worked there. Legit Compliments or Just trying to sell me something Compliments?? I love it too.
I would not read too much into a compliment given by a SA, however i've not smelled the fragrance.
Kaelee. I just sprayed it on my wrist.
It's a very nice scent.
I think Hanae Mori HiM is exactly the kind of scent that would get compliments. To my nose, it's a fairly generic and unadventurous warm spicy scent with a sweet amber drydown, but it absolutely does smell "nice." The very tail end of the drydown is especially pleasant, I think. One day I had put a bunch of fragrances on different parts of my arm, and later in the day I smelled something I thought was really nice. It took me a while to figure out it was the HiM.
Current Top Five:
1. Bois des Iles--Chanel
2. George Sand--Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
3. L'Ame Soeur--Divine
4. Violet Blonde--Tom Ford
5. Santal Blush--Tom Ford
I work at macys. Im in a different department but all of the cosmetics/fragrance employees are on commission. So I doubt some of those were for real.
If you've smelled Spicebomb, you've smelled HiM.
And I detest Spicebomb, so I don't like HiM, either.
Uhm... Are you sure it was HiM and not H.M.? Nordstrom sells both HiM and H.M. in both EdT and EdP. To the best of my knowledge, Macy's only sells H.M.
I don't think HiM smells at all like Spicebomb. HiM smells to me like a halfway point between Allure and Gucci Pour Homme II, with maybe a hint of La Nuit (but NOT the La Nuit drydown, which is a shame since that's great). HiM isn't bad, but it isn't great. I was really excited about it when I first smelled it, but by the end of my first full day of wearing it, I was very bored. I tried wearing it for a few days, but couldn't. But... I can definitely see why some may really enjoy this one.
My advice: if you like it, get a sample and wear it for a few days.

It's a remake on the idea of Claiborne Curve I could see the Joe Schmo falling over this scent.
