    Default Royal Regiment Vetiver

This was another rarity I was able to purchase from the french lady who recently closed her perfumery.
From Max Factor, a 1969 release. Basenotes lists it as just Royal Regiment, but it says Royal Regiment Vetiver on the bottle, so I am sure it is this fragrance that basenotes is referring to.
It's a clear cut, old school vetiver in the same vein as Guerlains original vetiver and every bit as refined. I was astonished at such high quality from Max Factor.
I now have a large collection of classic and contemporary vetivers and this one rates very highly amongst them.
This is definitely worth checking out.
Holiday accommodation, (central apartments in Berlin and south of France) offered in exchange for fragrances. Please pm me.

Can you post a picture david?

I have seen Royal Regiment, but as a Sandalwood scent, so I am a bit confused.

Not sure if this was manufactured in the States ? Max Factor is/was very big in the UK, so it may have been made there under license.

    Thanks for explaining !

Manufactured by Max Factor, it's a very rich, refined vetiver ~ very similar in character to vintage Guerlain vetiver.
Unfortunately there was not a box with it so I don't have any further information.

Thanks for sharing, that is a lovely window into a vintage scent. Ah, for the good old days...

......two lucky dogs ! Actually I prefer sandalwood to vetiver, so I think you got a better deal. How is the sandalwood ? Is it comparable to anything else ? Thanks for posting the photo !

Would love to know more about Sandalwood by Max Factor too, if possible

MF RR Vetiver is a marvelous oldschool vetiver. Very rare but highly recommended for fans of vintage Guerlain Vetiver & Co.
