Hard choice, but because I think that the IFRA restrictions have been deleterious to the genre of masculine citruses (without bergamot or oakmoss, they smell emptier).

I recently smelled Eau d'Hadrien, and all I could think was lemon pledge ...

All good, but Eau Sauvage is easily my favourite of the three.

I also like Bois du Portugal, which I prefer over New York in the warmer seasons.

I didn't vote as I couldn't choose between MDG and CPM but at a push I will now vote Monsieur de Givenchy for it's subtlety.

I feel exactly the same. A very difficult decision for me between MDG and CPH. I think I too would give Monsieur de Givenchy the edge.
Much as I admire Eau Sauvage, as a teenager in the seventies in the UK, every second man was wearing this fragrance and it sort of killed it for me

    David -

I took the road less traveled and chose the 4th option...all three and more! Each is a wonderful and classic fragrance. I have, respect and enjoy all three of them in both Vintage and recent/current formulations.

I think that they all offer something slightly different to the genre and I find myself adoring the one I am wearing at the time. I did wear Vintage Eau Sauvage to my oldest son's First Communion last May on a warm, sunny day in Northern California. It was fantastic. However, I have also enjoyed Monsieur de Givenchy and Chanel Pour Monsieur on special occasions as well.

You cannot go wrong here...the question is, which one do you find a personal affinity with most (if you were forced to choose)? For me, I am lucky and Blessed - as I get to choose which to wear (Vintage or Newer reformulation)...along with other timeless citrus scents including Acqua di Parma (various bottlings), Armani Eau Pour Homme (Vintage & Current), YSL Pour Homme (Vintage and Recent, but not current) as well as YSL Pour Homme Haute Concentration - and also Monsieur Balmain, Eau de Rochas Pour Homme and, the classic...Guerlain Imperiale (Extra Dry is my preference).

The world of Aromatic Citrus scents is so vast - there is something special in each and every brilliant creation...

    Cheers, my friend.

Chanel pour Monsieur for me. It's my "comfort" scent. Love it.
