Talking Complete this list: Rive gauche PH, Azzaro PH ...

Complete with some scents in the same vibe, if you like these two. What would sit side by side with both, in a shelf?

Maybe Creed Bois Du Portugal to go a little upmarket.

This thread may come in handy in helping me in maybe avoiding/being weary(?) of certain scents :P.

Creed Original Vetiver because of the Barber Shop vibe.

I am a barbershop-aholic as well and am always looking for new ones. I was able to score Davidoff Relax in trade, and it has a nice take on this style. Check out the inexpensive ones like Pinaud Clubman (especially Special Reserve) and Tabac Original

This is more of a complementing match rather than a soulmate, but Fou d'Absinthe has a similar feel to me, though quite a bit "greener" and modern.

    You could have a chart!

*Want to be old-school, transported to 1978? If Yes ----> Azzaro If No,
*Want to be both modern and old-school? If Yes ----> rive gauche If no,
*Want to be modern, with occasional hints of retro old-school ----> Fou d'Absinthe

Among others, I'd suggest, in tune with these two classics: Aramis pour Homme, Tabac Original (both as EDC and as EDT), Chanel pour Monsieur Concentree, Givenchy Gentleman, ADP Colonia, Colonia Assoluta and Collezione Barbiere, Loewe para Hombre, Gucci Nobile, YSL pour Homme.

While the suggestions above are not identical and only marginally similar to the two thread-starting fragrances, they are all masculine classics, mostly powerhouse, with a manly, imposing, yet also suavely stylish, understated classic vibe.

Classic fougeres. Drakkar Noir, I'd say. Or Paco Rabanne pour homme.

    Why not?
So far, this type of frag doesn't seem like my cup of tea necessarily.

I have RGPH (can kind), and Cuba Black (which might smell really close to... Azzaro PH?)

I'm not big into those type of scents.

Hi, Jouho! The "Why not?" meant your comment was fun and a good idea to "avoid" fumes that are not your type by readin' the topic.
