Default Fragrances you don't wear in public

Do you have any scents that you choose not to wear in public for whatever reason? Perhaps they are too animalic, feminine, or dated and you think other people wouldn't like them.

Yes, some Carons, L'Heure Bleue or some vintage extraits. They just don't feel right at the moment on me (when going out with them), which says nothing about how much I may enjoy them. L'Heure Bleue e.g. has become more and more a contemplative ME fragrance.

I'm having trouble picturing situations where I'd think, Dark Aoud would be perfect today, but I will take it public sooner or later.

Not used to the raunch of Leather Oud, but I've already worn it in public and damn if the honey and other notes in the drydown didn't combine with the smells of baking bread and pastries in my local bakery to transmorph into something stunningly yummy.

I like to wear some of the old, comforting scents that remind me of being a kid, when I am at home. Blue Stratos, Jovan Musk, Brut for example.

Some of the stronger powerhouses, some scents with leather and musk notes, too overpowering scents in general.

Sort of...Back to Black is REALLY powerful on me. Projects like a beast. I'm not opposed to wearing it out in public, I just haven't had the guts to do it yet. My wife really likes it, so if/when I put it on, I usually do it at night when we're staying in.

I can think of two at the moment:

The Third Man / Number 3 / Le 3me Homme by Caron

    and

Animale Animale for Men by Animal Parfums.

Both are too strong for my taste, and I feel that one spray of each is more than enough to cover half a block.

I wear everything in public with some consideration when I am flying, which I do every week, or when I am in church. I just limit the number of sprays and/or just spray on my chest for projection beasts such as Black Aoud, Mancera Sand aoud, black afgano or funky arabian oils.

^^ was going to say Le Male also. Teenagers and middle aged men on the prowl render it a bit too common.

Cool Water would be another one but I'm not wearing/owning it anymore as it fell out of favour.

There's nothing that I would strictly not wear in public, but there are a few that I think twice about. Cuir de Russie, definitely. Heavy stuff, rich, with a thick leather that borders on refined and animalistic. Portrait of a Lady is a bit safer, but I still give it some thought. Black Aoud, which I sold soon after buying it just because I wasn't sure I could wear it too often.

Yep. Quorum - I only wear when I want to be antisocial.

Habit Rouge and Tom Ford Noir are disliked by a lot of
people I socialize with, so I am safer around them. I save
    them for special occasions.

The VoIce of Reason by Lush might also be worn strategically.

I have few fragrances that I consider suitable for all occasions. Some I like to wear when I'm at home, some only to work, some when socializing. Many are suitable for more than one setting, but - yes - there are some that I don't wear outside the house much or at all.

It's like clothes - I don't wear a suit to the park and I don't wear pajamas to work. Some frags are grey suits and some are flannel PJs.

I think things I don't wear out to public are not because they are too daring or but rather, I have much better alternatives to those scents.

For example. I don't think I'd be wearing Claiborne Sport or Burberry Weekend out to public because I would reach for CK one, Azzaro Chrome, or Issey Miyake for fresh scents.
