Default Bois des lles Parfum vs LE's EDT

Has anybody purchased the Parfum Version of this fragrance and how has it performed compared to the EDT which I find fleeting ?

    Thanks

The EDTs of all of the Chanel exclusives vary in longevity. The best seems to be Coromandel and the Chanel Cuir de Russie.

I have both the EDT and parfum of Bois des Iles, and I layer them over an unscented silicone-based skin lotion. (Try Aveeno unscented lotion.) You can also purchase Chanel's Fresh Body Creme (pricey) skin creme made to layer to see if they have any more longevity. This cream does have a slight scent that alters the scent you layer it with.

As with almost all scents, the amount of alcohol gives great sillage but lowers longevity. The parfums last well but stay much closer to the skin.

You may have to experiment or use both.

I'm curious too to know how this is going in perfume. The unavailability of real Mysore sandalwood could be problematic. Or perhaps they still use some in the parfum, but substitute it in the edc.

I find the parfum to be sweeter than the EDT. Again, sample both or layer them over lotion to see your results.

I have both versions and a bit of the EdT on hair or clothes will help. The parfum has longevity but the sillage is low, it wears very close. It is very nice though. I tend to use the EdT more for the day, I get about 5 hours from 4 good sprays.

I own the EDT and agree it is rather fleeting unfortunately. My mother owns the Parfum version and how it differs is, it's much denser, richer and where the EDT could be considered "pastel water colours", the Parfum is in "full focus and golden". As others have said the longevity is superior, but sillage is low.

You might also like Dior Bois d'Argent, which last longer and has great sillage. The scent is more iris/wood and incense. Not as lightly gourmand or "gingerbread-y" as Bois des Iles.

I've tried this but didn't like it. I appreciate the tip though.

Scents, you must like the warm "gingerbread" spice, too!
