Thread: Its YOUR Choice!!
Hello BN Friends!
Part of my New Years resolution is to spend less money on frags, so I am limiting myself to collecting my spare change and singles in a large jar and when its full I will use that to buy something new. As a small way of saying thanks to everyone who has ever posted here on BN I am letting you all decide what I buy. This jar is pretty large and when its full it holds about $200-250(maybe Ill buy 2 frags). Its about 75% full right now so I thought I would start the poll and tally everything up when it fills up. I want something that is rich, opulent, complicated, and challenging so here is your list to choose from(I have sampled all of these so I know I like them):
1. MFK Absolue pour le Soir
2. MFK Lumiere Noir
3. Mazzolari Lui
4. MPG Parfum d’Habit
5. Montale Aoud Musk
6. Montale Patch Leaves
7. Ramon Monegal Ambra di Luna
8. Ramon Monegal Agar Musk
9. Chanel Cuir de Russie
10. Vero Profumo Onda EDP
11. Amouage Epic Man
12. Amouage Memoir Man
13. Amouage Jubilation Man/Woman
14. Tauer LDDM
15. L’Artisan Parfumeur Dzing!
Parfum d'Habit. This is a unique and elegant scent. No very likely to be worn everywhere.
"No elegance is possible without it...perfume is a part of you." Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel
I chose Memoir Man. If you want opulent though, go with Jubilation XXV. It's a little harder to wear in my opinion, but nice.
Might not be "challenging," but Lumiere Noir got my vote.
"Christian Dior / You wasted your life
On aroma and clothes / Fabric and dyes." Christian Dior - Morrissey
I voted Onda Extrait that I really need to get *myself*. My runner-up would have been Jubilation XXV.
Current Top Favorites:
1) Portrait of a Lady original formula (EdP Frédéric Malle)

4) Lalfeorosa (O'driù) - tie
6) Les Nombres d'Or Vetyver (Mona di Orio)
7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
8) Tzora (Anat Fritz)
9) Javanese Patchouli (Zegna) - tie

9) Coeur de Vetiver Sacré (L'Artisan) - tie
9) Polo vintage (Ralph Lauren) - tie
9) Patou pour Homme Privé (Jean Patou) - tie
9) Oud Shamash (The Different Company) - tie
I voted for Epic Man - My favourite Amouage.
Lumiere Noire Pour Homme.
I voted for Chanel Cuir de Russie. An absolutely wonderful unisex leather frag that is both complex and not the usual to wear. One of my favorites.
I'm not OLD...I'm VINTAGE!
this is IMPOSSIBLE for me. With the exception of Patchouli Leaves, the rest of the list include tones of my favorites...If forced to choose with a gun, I'd probably go with Onda Extrait.

let me add one thing though...if you base your purchase on a poll, you'll end up buyng the most popular fragrance and not the best...

You have a lot of good choices on there. But the one that smells great and also fits your criteria (rich, opulent, complicated, and challenging), I voted for Jubilation XXV

You mean a jar like this:
I voted LDDM. Though I have to admit I've sampled only 8 of those listed.
My wardrobe is up to date as of 5/22/16.

I think Tauer's LDDM is absolutely superb, but I don't find it particularly challenging. I don't mean that in a bad way though. Quite the opposite. On paper, I thought it might be challenging, but on skin, I found it surprisingly easy to wear.
Lonestar Memories by Tauer... now THAT'S challenging!
L'Air du Desert Marocain is a pleasure to wear.
PM me if you know of a split for:

A lot of grat options - I voted for Désert Marocain. It's a beautiful incense-amber combo (actually the only incense-heavy frag I really enjoy these days...). I'm sure you wouldn't regret getting it!
Jubilation XXV. Yes it's not the easiest to wear on all occasions, but it looks like you're saving for something special - and special it is!
I voted for Absolue Pour le Soir.
LDDM without a doubt.
Things are getting interesting. Keep the voting up guys!!!!
Jubilation XXV gets my vote, but your list has many other excellent choices.
Epic Man seemed appropriate based on your comments. However there are many excellent choices there.
Majority of the one on the list are from good to great,

Agar musk is positively breathtaking! It's my favorite Oud scent of ALL! It has a real true Oud note that stays long and strong. No rose. It's unique and unlike any other Oud I have smelled. Is like a beautiful vetiver/Oud/wood blend.
Absolute Pour Le Soir - because super-niche; and it might get discontinued.
