You want information or a Term Paper (just kidding with you bro)? IMO rive gauche is a better frag.

I like 'em both too. Quite similar, and I am trying to determine which has better longevity. I would agree that the APH might be slightly more "harsh" or unrefined. APH is considered a "powerhouse" frag, though people say the current formulation is weaker than the old.
APH and RG are both pretty nice, to me.

    To me:

    Fresher - Azzaro
    Older vibe - Azzaro
    Cleaner - Rive Gauche
Nauseant - They can both be a little rough in the top notes if you are feeling a bit delicate
    versatile - Rive Gauche
Richer - Rive Gauche I think.
    Harsher - Rive Gauche

They're both aromatic fougeres, so there are similarities. RG is drier and cleaner, the barbershop-soapy vibe is much stronger. ApH is darker and has a big wormwood note in the top. ApH therefore has more of a seventies vibe than RG.
