Doesn't sound like my thing but it sounds good, and probably will be good.

Too hard to tell but may seem a bit fem.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

yea, the mid notes does seem a bit fem.

overall, the listed notes of 1932 seem very familiar to Bois des Iles

People who have attend Chanel's 1932 Jewelries Collection Event last year already got this Chanel Les Exclusifs as a gift months ago.

The notes seems a bit femme and the base notes seems really heavy.

This sounds promising. Ive been digging florals lately, as long as they have some kind of masculinity in there. Cant wait to try it out.

I'm really hoping that this one is going to be better than Beige and Jersey; looking forward to trying it.

Yes, some of the last releases were a bit disappointing.

Jersey was terrible! It's hard to imagine how you can go so wrong with lavender and vanilla when you have Jicky and Pour un Homme de Caron as two totally different models, but it was dreadful. Smelled to me like lavender cough syrup!

I must intervene in defense of my little guilty pleasure Jersey. But I understand it's a personal thing.

In any case, by chance my sister sent me an article/ad (in the sense of those laudatory article that papers write about their main advertiser's products) about Chanel 1932. As mentioned above, the inspiration is the first jewelry collection of the brand. From the article, the novelty of the collection was the simplicity and the lightness, diamonds mounted on platinum threads, like a bang (in the sense of hair) made of diamond hair.

The relation between this and the perfume is a little unclear even in the laudatory article. Presumably, the perfume too is light, simple, luminous. Polge is cited as saying that (my translation) "the jasmine is for perfumery what the diamond is for jewelery... essential". Which here on BN we will likely interpret as an involuntary declaration of death of perfumery.

(Ignoring altogether IFRA's restrictions, the so called journalist manages to say that jasmine "must be picked at dawn" (which is true of all flowers, fruits, and the like, but never mind), and "worked petal after petal" (??). She forgot to mention that it has to be picked by virgins.

In any case, somehow this article made me lose all hopes that this will be a perfume on par with the other exclusifs. But, as usual, we shall smell.

I like Jersey, too. It's very safe and wearable like a white shirt. If I can't decide but don't want to go out without any scent I take this.
I wouldn't describe this fragrance as unisex. To me it's asexual. There is no modicum of sex in it.

I tested 1932 a few weeks ago and was disappointed. On the paper it was tempting but on my skin it just became a floral Chanel. Like the fortieth Chanel bag – some might need it.

My wife and daughters enjoy it so I bought it for them, but you are right, to me it is just a floral Chanel.

HI Cacio and graphite, sorry I came across hating on Jersey. I'm sure it is lovely on the two of you. It just was one of those things that REALLY wasn't my style!

I've begun testing 1932 and, in my view, it's quite feminine, and smells similar to other Exclusifs. That's my early take on it. Very unlikely that this will lead to a FB for me.

I never wore something that has that much florals. Will this be man friendly?
