I'm not sure if this one is a chypre or a fougere, imo it falls dead in between. That would be Esencia by Loewe. If not that, then I would go with Polo.

Forgot to add 31 Rue Cambon. Not as chypre as it could be, both an excellent fragrance, that has the intelligence and wordly experience of the great chypres.

I only included what I wear with any regularity. I wear Bandit every once in awhile, so I'll include it. One of the best ever. I don't really wear them, but the same goes for Enlevement au Serail, Aromatics Elixir, Futur, vintage No. 19 edt, etc. Jubilation 25 is also surprisingly excellent. And smelling the Knize Ten in the great Chinatown is always a trip.

If discussing recent fragrances, I think Chanel 31 rue Cambon does an excellent job in the face of restrictions. I actually prefer it to many of the oakmoss laden classics.

Among recent releases, I must say I'm impressed by Iskander (Parfums d'Empire) each time I wear it. A very nice take on the chypre genre!

Sorry Bernard but MITSOUKO is still the greatest Chypre.

*Amouage Jubilation 25 For Women. A real unisex winner. Way better than Mitsouko EDP NOT as great as Mitsouko PARFUM.
