Default Rochas Man: Projection and Longevity?

What is the projection and longevity like on Rochas Man? Also, is it suitable for casual wear?

    Thanks.

Projection is great for first few hours (can be cloying in high temperatures), close to skin later. Longevity 5-8 hours. It is very versatile and suitable for casual wear.
Current TOP 5 from my collection:

    1. Gucci Pour Homme II
    2. Chanel Coromandel
    3. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
    4. Encre Noire
    5. Dior Homme Intense

    Echo this sentiment.

Very good gourmand for the price.

Yeah, just read some of the reviews, some people saying it's terrible and close to the skin?

Are there any chocolatey fragrances similar to this?

I would say average for both, Rochas turns into a skin scent after about 3 hours, lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin. If I were to do it all again, I would buy Rochas Man Intense.
The hunt for a Signature Fragrance is not an easy one! I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Want to buy! "Nothing?!, well that's a first."

The projection/longevity was a little quiet/ wimpy on me when I tested for 3 days in the winter. However that was before I took to using lotion which seems to help. I personally wouldn't call it a chocolatey scent - much more burnt sugar. And in my book and many others you can get New Haarlem, whose sillage and longevity is powerful but you will have to pay for it.

I like this one a lot and prefer it over New Haarlem which I find overwhelming. It lasts about six hours on my skin though it does stay close to it. And for the price its a great buy if you like chocolate/mocha scents.

If not record-worthy, still very good, indeed around 8 hours

I'd honestly say that it is better than average for both. Rochas Man is a classic men's gourmand that has withstood the test of time. I solid addition to any collection without a doubt.
    Fall/Winter Rotation:

    Lancme Hypnse
    Lanvin Avant Garde
    Zegna Intenso
    Dior Homme Intense
    Thierry Mugler Taste of Fragrance
    Prada Amber Intense Pour Homme

If smelling good was a crime, I'd be serving a lifetime sentence....

Although it's not a "Summer" scent, I am going to go against the grain and use it this evening in super hot weather (NYC, feels like 100F!) Feels fresh enough, and is not as strong as the usual gourmands we all know about. Good projection for about two hours, average longevity, an extremely affordable little masterpiece, unlike its supremely overpriced (but still, good) big brother.

Alfarom said on the review section that it's been discontinued, yet it's still being sold online at Sephora. Anybody else heard anything about this? Since it's so cheap now, we should stock up if that's the case. Hopefully it's just a rumor.

    Very subtle and versatile.

I find Rochas Man Intense much stronger, with more longevity, sillage and better smell.
Very well done (more ice cream vanilla and less lavender)

On me, it project very well for maybe 2 hours, then it slowly become a skin scent. But after 10 hours its still there. I can still have some little sniff of it after 10 hours...

Rochas man has great longevity (8-10 hours) and sillage is above average..this never really gets close to the skin for me. One or the best gourmand fragrances of all time IMO

For me it's average longevity. I do think New Haarlem is quite similar and probably a better made scent, though it is likely inspired by Rochas Man. Probably has better legs if thats an issue for you, but it is almost double the price.

I consider a very casual scent. It would be weird at work...at least for me. Very weird. Very sweet and gourmand. Makes me hungry if I wear it. A more discreet gourmand and less polarizing than A*Men.

I'm wearing it today. It is fairly quiet. Makes it very very versatile. On me projection is pretty weak, but thats the beauty of the fragrance. Great day time winter fragrance for casual wear. Also can be worn on a date if your gunna get close.

Maurice Roucel was the nose behind both of them, so it's quite likely.

Exactly, but then again how useful is 24 hour longevity when you have to put your nose directly on your skin to smell it

Longevity is fairly acceptable but it's pointless if there is no projection to benefit the longevity.

Longevity is around 8 hours (including the time as a skin scent)
Projection is very low. Amongst the lowest that I own and not a big fan of quiet scents.
