8/9-year old Creed
So, there's a local seller with a couple of 2.5 oz. Creeds for $75 per bottle (the more popular fragrances). Each bottle is at least 85% full, but he states that they're all 8, 9-years old.
It seems like a sweet deal, but is it really, considering they're almost a decade old?

I still have an ancient GIT, and it smells as amazing as it did when new

Ask him if you can give each one a single spray to see how they smell...

It all depends on how they've been taken care of. If treated well, in my opinion, a fragrance can lost a very long time without any ill-effects.
Edit: I thought this thread was going to be about Erwin's son.

They smell great. I just don't know how much more shelf life each bottle will have after I purchase them, I'm debating buying three or four, and I can't imagine going though all bottles anytime soon.

Definitely, never go without testing the fragrance! Even for the new ones!

Keep them out of the sunlight, you'll get another 5+ years without any issue. If you have a spot that stays closely the same temperature year round, even longer.
The so-called volatile nature of Creeds I think is overrated and given too much room to worry. Even my original Neroli Sauvage smelled great for years - and citrus tends to lose their top note quicker than most others.
You'll be fine after testing, imho.

Probably last 10 years or longer if they were taken care of.

If stored correctly, they should be fine. Which ones are they? Have you smelled any Creeds?

Yes, I've samples most creeds, and own a couple already. I don't know off the top of my head which scents he has, but I'm shooting for aventus, MI and OS

Re: 8/9-year old Creed
Depends on which ones you are talking about. If they are discontinued and rare, it might be a good deal. But if they are simply the usual Creeds that are currently in production, I'd get them somewhere else. Lilydirect.com sells nearly all Creeds in 2.5 oz tester bottles that are around $70 something.

Does anyone have any experience ordering from Lilydirect.com?

For $75, I'd say they are worth a punt. Good luck!
Can't see you finding an 8 or 9 year old Aventus though....
