Default SOTD Sunday 3rd February 2013

Firstly, sooooooooooo embarrassed I got the wrong year in my SOTD
post yesterday. Can't imagine what came over my fingers.

Wearing Rive Gauche this morning and feeling very relaxed.
    Have a good Sunday everyone.

    Good morning,

I started off in Mouchoir de Monsieur and while studying online information on the Etro fragrances gradually added one after the other on free spots of my arms (I got a whole package of samples at my local store). Among these were Magot, Vetiver, Etra and Shaal Nur.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Good morning all. Off to the local garden centre to pick up a few bits and pieces. Will be indulging to the max with their home made scones (jam and cream optional but essential IMO). Lunch in the slow cooker, Pinot Gris chilling in the fridge.

    SotD is Xerjoff Regio.

Didn't hear anything after "garden centre."
Yesterday Mr. Q and I were reviewing which prairie flower seeds to put into flats and set out in the snow for conditioning.

I'm enjoying the drydown phase of yesterday's application of L'Heure Bleue. I wouldn't care if I never smelled its top notes again, but let me languish in these base notes, clouds of dusky sweetness. I know that in certain times and places, the well-to-do's would pay others to break in their new shoes. I would pay others to wear off top notes for me.

    Hugs, all.

Enjoy the Superbowl, Americans. I'm enjoying glimpses of Evangeline's beautiful country and coast.

    Good afternoon.

A glorious sunny and windy day here in Milan- at last the fog and the pollution of the previous weeks have been swept away for a while!

No real SotD, just a drop of Etro Vicolo Fiori, from a sample (activity twin with Larimar ), for a beautiful long walk through the park, some shopping and a lunch in Chinatown.

Hope you're enjoying your Sunday as well.

Good afternoon fair fragranced folk. Is BN working better now? It's been so hit and miss lately it has been too frustrating for me.

SotD is Gorilla Vanillary. I currently have a HUGE crush on Lush's Gorilla lines. Anyone wanting the strange should check out their "Volume2" line. They range from the photorealistic smell of satsumas (Sun) to phenol crossed with hospital floor wax. One even smells like smoked bacon fried crisply! All typically Gorilla weird and worth sniffing.

Hope all of you are well

I'm trying the final tuberose in the pass of that name. Tubereuse 1 - Capricieuse :Notes
Tuberose, Bergamot, Saffron, Iris, Ylang ylang, Suede, Cocoa
I've learned something about myself......I really dislike most tuberose centric scents.

We had "Surprise Snow" overnight. The 1/2" predicted turned into 4"+...that was fun to wake up to this morning.

LHS Winterguard (Sofie's team) placed 2nd in their division. There was 1/2 a point difference between 1st & 2nd place. It's just their first competition, so the show will most definitely improve.

That's because the groundhog didn't see his shadow on Friday. It's funny you mention seeing a robin, Quarry. A few days ago there was an entire flock of robins hopping around our front yard and into the trees. I'd never seen so many gathered together before. I didn't know they flocked together in such numbers. It seemed odd. That was one of those strangely spring like days we had before it turned wintry again.

I'm wearing some ancient Miss Dior this morning. Yesterday it was Prada L'eau Ambree in the afternoon, and Chantilly in the evening. This Miss Dior is making me sneeze. I do believe (ducking) there is something to the oakmoss/allergen claims. I suppose I'd have to build up a tolerance to it again not to sneeze. On the other hand, it could be the forbidden wheat I had at breakfast.

Excellent !. Coincidentally we actually have a solitary fieldfare currently visiting our garden (thrush family and similar in size to your bird) - they migrate here from colder parts of Northern Europe and usually congregate in flocks. We are fortunate to have one gracing us with it's presence.

Wore Mitsouko today, in the EDP form. I just love it, but it is too much for your average work day at a hospital where only a soap and water or hand sanitizer scent will do.

Shortly after applying Capricieuse, my daughter asked: "Did you put on some perfume or something 'cause I have to say you don't smell so good. Smells like a giant tuberose & not in a good way!"

(For you basenotes old timers, I shared Sofie learning to ride a 2 wheeler back in 2005. Now, she critiques my perfumes and nails them.)

    "Yes, honey," I said. "It's a tuberose."

"Mom, you know you can't wear tuberose. It's a scrubber!"

So, Capricieuse was removed with Tide and I settled into a lovely skankfest of original TDC Rose Poivree. Mmmmm, much better.

I'm doing some more testing...tonight Tom Ford Noir. Little goes a long way, as is the case with every fume I've tried from him. Oh dear...not liking how it's morphing on my skin. Becoming kind of mentholated. Think this one is a scrubber for me.

Now in Guerlain's Idylle. Ahhh...much better as SOTE.
