Why limit yourself though? Half the fun is experimenting with new Houses.

Creeds got some great stuff and when I first discovered the fragrance world it seemed like the name you heard over and over and I thought it was the bees knees but theres simply other amazing stuff out there. Whilst it might cover you for most occasions would be pretty boring just having that selection and if general compliments is all you are after then buy a flacon of Aventus and call it a day.

If I have to choose just ONE house... certainly it will be Frederic Malle.

I don't like any of the frags the OP listed. I think they're boring and conventional, or just bad.

I do own 2 Creeds however. Both from 1982.

The only problem is, you wouldn't have any scents that last more than 5 hours.

    OS
    OV
    Himalaya
    Virgin Island Water
    Royal Oud

If these were the only fragrances you owned, you would be swimming in compliments, and still manage to smell different from most. You could get a bottle of each for a little over 1k$ and would be set for quite awhile. I've been thinking of selling most of my collection and doing this.

Yes. Creed is all you need.

    Olivier Creed is God.

    Erwin Creed is Jesus.

Luis and Rodney are the apostles.

    Get compliments.

    Get Creed.

I did not notice Bois du Portugal on your list. Of all the Creeds I've tried/owned/sampled, I find GIT and BdP the only ones that I really want to own. Maybe I need to go back and give some of the other Creeds another try.

Creed makes good fragrances. I would need more than just Aventus and GIT to be happy.

Do you remember Michael Douglas in "Wall Street"?
    "Greed is Good", he said.
well, it was a mistake, the real line was: "Creed is Good".

That sounds like a great plan....but I'd have no money from my divorce and would be living in my car.

True. Again, BdP is not on the list. This is the only Creed that I've tried that has any longevity.

I always chuckle when people say Creed is bad or just plain boring. You guys know deep down that most Creeds do in fact smell good. I understand how some people want to venture off far into unheard of niche fragrances to smell different, even if it means smelling like cat litter and baby diapers, but in reality Creed is top notch.

Not at all, IMO. I do like GIT, and a couple others to a minor degree, but I could easily live without their offerings in favor of many others of all different popularity levels and price points. There is nothing wrong with anyone else loving Creed, but they don't impress me at all on the whole.

I agree. I like Aventus and GIT, but I can think of other fragrances I like more.

Their stuff is all pretty good, but it's still really high priced for what they are (cologne!). I did recently just participate in a decant split, but I could never justify spending full retail, over $200 on a Creed fragrance. I'd need my head checked.

Unless you're wealthy, and in that case....enjoy!

Of course there's the argument to be made that, instead of spending an equivalent amount of money for a shelf full of colognes, get one or two high end scents, like a Creed, which can serve as your year round signature, and you're set.

Their bottles also look slightly better than Bond No 9's.

You can find Creed at deep discounts. Walgreens sold GIT for around $140 for the 4 ounce bottle.

Creed makes a number of fragrances that I like (and some of which I love). However, I think you'd be missing out on a LOT of other houses' masterpieces by limiting yourself to the Creeds.

I think the OP's sentiments are correct in as much as you could also say I could live the rest of my life without wearing any fragrance, or I could stay in the same job or just eat baked beans - I'd survive. I like fragrances, so why would I limit myself to just one ok house??
