Default Creed is all you Need..

If all you had were the popular Creed scents, not only would you have enough cologne for every season, but also any occasion.

    Aventus
    GIT
    SMW
    MI
    OS
    OV
    Himalaya
    Virgin Island Water
    Royal Oud

If these were the only fragrances you owned, you would be swimming in compliments, and still manage to smell different from most. You could get a bottle of each for a little over 1k$ and would be set for quite awhile. I've been thinking of selling most of my collection and doing this.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the house. I really hope they have a new male fragrance release this year. It's been about 2 years since the last one.

I'm surprised Creed hasn't produced a pamphlet about which scents they sell are good for what climates, weather conditions, social occasions, etc. With their fan base, I can't imagine it not increasing sales.

In fact, I would have an almost complete fragrance wardrobe (except, of course, some of the better, more versatile and more creative releases from designer houses) if I only had REL, BDP, Tabarome (either Vintage or Millesime), GIT, OV and two or three more Creeds "pending further investigation" (and testing) in my fragrance collection.

Good or bad, controversial or not, over-hyped and even overpriced or not, I have to hand it over to this fragrance house: they certainly don't lack in variety and, also, quite a few timelessly classic highlights.

For colder weather you need more powerful scents. I think Dior has the ultimate and most versatile lineup

I have GIT, SMW, Tabarome, Erolfa, OS, OV, Himalaya - and all I've been wearing all week is Joop Splash and Joop Homme Very Sexy in Pink and Joop Go.

I might wear Tabarome tomorrow, as I'm going to the beach and don't want to waste my Joops.

If I coud only own fragrances from one house, it would certainly be Creed. I completely agee that a great collection could be built out of nothing but Creed, but why limit yourself? Furthermore, my Creed collection looks a bit different than the ones you posted.

I have had quite a few Creeds. I've sold, swapped or given away every one of them. At this moment I crave many fragrances, none of which are Creeds. They are for most part very nice, high quality and agreeable - and nothing more. When I think of masterpieces, I don't think of Creed.

I always giggle when I see the prices of the discontinued Creed frags. Genius branding for sure.

Nice house! Lower the prices and raise the longevity, then they would be a great house IMO.

In theory, there is a fragrance for every occasion. However, you'd be missing some great gems that are found elsewhere.

I've tried several fragrances from the house of Creed but only own three - SMW, Aventus, and GIT. It would be nice to explore other houses for more options.

Creeds got some great stuff and when I first discovered the fragrance world it seemed like the name you heard over and over and I thought it was the bees knees but theres simply other amazing stuff out there. Whilst it might cover you for most occasions would be pretty boring just having that selection and if general compliments is all you are after then buy a flacon of Aventus and call it a day.

I don't like any of the frags the OP listed. I think they're boring and conventional, or just bad.

I do own 2 Creeds however. Both from 1982.

I did not notice Bois du Portugal on your list. Of all the Creeds I've tried/owned/sampled, I find GIT and BdP the only ones that I really want to own. Maybe I need to go back and give some of the other Creeds another try.

I always chuckle when people say Creed is bad or just plain boring. You guys know deep down that most Creeds do in fact smell good. I understand how some people want to venture off far into unheard of niche fragrances to smell different, even if it means smelling like cat litter and baby diapers, but in reality Creed is top notch.

Not at all, IMO. I do like GIT, and a couple others to a minor degree, but I could easily live without their offerings in favor of many others of all different popularity levels and price points. There is nothing wrong with anyone else loving Creed, but they don't impress me at all on the whole.
    Current Top Favorites:
    1) Portrait of a Lady original formula (EdP Frédéric Malle)
    2) Giorgio for Men vintage/V.I.P. for Men (Giorgio Beverly Hills)
    3) Dia Man vintage edt (Amouage)
    4) Les Nombres d'Or Vetyver (Mona di Orio) - tie
    4) Lalfeorosa (O'driù) - tie

    6) Anat Fritz Original Formula and Classical (Anat Fritz)
    7) Captain vintage (Molyneux)
    8) Tzora (Anat Fritz)
    9) Javanese Patchouli (Zegna) - tie
    9) Monsieur de Givenchy vintage (Givenchy) - tie
    9) Coeur de Vetiver Sacré (L'Artisan) - tie
    9) X for Men (Clive Christian) - tie

I agree. I like Aventus and GIT, but I can think of other fragrances I like more.

Their stuff is all pretty good, but it's still really high priced for what they are (cologne!). I did recently just participate in a decant split, but I could never justify spending full retail, over $200 on a Creed fragrance. I'd need my head checked.

Unless you're wealthy, and in that case....enjoy!

Of course there's the argument to be made that, instead of spending an equivalent amount of money for a shelf full of colognes, get one or two high end scents, like a Creed, which can serve as your year round signature, and you're set.

You can find Creed at deep discounts. Walgreens sold GIT for around $140 for the 4 ounce bottle.

I think the OP's sentiments are correct in as much as you could also say I could live the rest of my life without wearing any fragrance, or I could stay in the same job or just eat baked beans - I'd survive. I like fragrances, so why would I limit myself to just one ok house??
