So I had a good 1,000 words to cram into an essay yesterday, an essay of which the subject didn't much appeal to me. I happened to be testing Lalique Encre Noire at the time, and every time I went to take a sniff, I was invigorated. Encouraged to write more as it were. Perhaps it was the fact that it's meant to replicate ink (as per the translated title)? Seems weird to say it, but I feel like this fragrance was helping me to think and work productively.
Do any fragrances make you feel especially creative and/or productive?
Any I find stimulating, e.g. Mitsouko.
Creativity is mystery to me. In many ways: I don't know when it happens, what it is or does it even exist in any meaningful sense.
Pretty much anything in my wardrobe, while stimulating creativity was NOT the main reason for choosing them, even unconsciously/subconsciously, the additional stimulative factor for my creativity is yet another additional benefit "coming with the job description" (of these very scents).
It probably acts as a stimulus to activate and engage the subconcious cognitive areas, pretty much how background classical symphonies seem to help one focus better on a mental task. I reckon the more complex the scent the better.
OR perhaps it simply keeps one awake long enough to get the job done.
