Not a fan of either, but of the two I'd go with the latter.

Opus 1870. Classier and more complex of the two.

I'm a big fan of Opus 1870 and really like how the rose and peppery cedar come together in this composition. Neroli Portofino is good to but you can purchase it's like for much less cash.

Im not so concerned about price. What is the best quality alternative to Neroli Portofino if anyone knows?

I really like NP but it smells far to unatural and concentrated. In an ideal world id like pretty much the same thing but lighter, more natural smelling.

How about Penhaligon's Castile, which is a nice neroli-rose composition?

    They're very different.

One is refreshingly floral and uplifting (Neroli Portofino) while the other is peppery and woody (cedar).

    I prefer the latter.

    for swap/sale:

Neither impressed me much, but 1870 was more to my tastes...

I very much prefer Neroli Portofino and have further noticed that the women at my job are crazy about that fragrance.

Never smelled Opus, but I like NP as a part of a collection. The neroli is quite realistic (I grew up with a small orange tree in my room for most of my childhood, so I know neroli), and the citrus doesn't overpower it. It's a nice, light fragrance for summer.

Apples and oranges really. I'd pick the Tom Ford for summer but to be honest similarly refreshing fragrances can be had for much less capital outlay.

Without a doubt Neroli Portofino. If you have issues with (over) performance you can always regulate how many sprays. For example you could spray once on a wrist and spread it around.
I love the scent of this one and I'm addicted to stealing sniffs of it on my skin all day long (its longevity is measured in days, not hrs) & as a bonus, in all my testing it blew away scents like Virgin Island Water, Xerjoff's Nio, Frapin's L'Humaniste etc. in likability by the female crowd.
As for the naturalism/authenticity of the Neroli/Orange Blossom accord, it is a soapy/soap suds scent not a floral so that should not concern your judgement. For what it does, it's easily the best soapy scent by a forever and a mile, and it can be found at much cheaper prices than the retail tag suggests.

A little late, but if you're still checking, try Diptyque's L'Eau de Neroli. Very natural, very beautiful neroli. And 1/3 the price of NP.
