Was it a tester?
I recently ordered a bottle of M7, assuming it was the reformulated version. The bottle arrived in a sealed box which showed the 13 ingredients on the back, yet the bottle itself is completely amber and more akin to the vintage version, not clear on the sides like all the reformulated bottles I've seen. Anyone have any information about this? It smells great but I'm just a little confused. Thank you!
Was it a tester?
they didn't say it was a tester. it was also sealed and definitely looked like it was sealed properly (not just a ghetto shrink wrap job). bottle is completely full. I'd be happy to read off any info from the box or the actual bottle for you...
The all amber bottles are considered vintage, no matter what the box looks like or says.

keepin' it musky
Top 10 for sure. Good thing I have a lifetime supply.
You have the vintage most likely -- less sprays is more with this.
Yeah I mean that is awesome, just super confusing that there are 13 ingredients listed, which is widely known as a way to identify the reformulated version.
Hi, "number of ingredients" on the box has no importance; you probably got a "year 2006" or "year2007" bottle.
check on the bottom of the box, or bottom of the bottle, you will surely find a batch code starting with "6" or "7" (for example: 6CAA, or 7DBA) .
Enjoy what you have.
Testers come in a rather plain box and have no cap. What you have is vintage. Enjoy it!
1. Epic Man by Amouage (26 wears)
2. Leather Oud by Christian Dior (25 wears)
3. M7 by Yves Saint Laurent (20 wears)
4. Oud Imperial (black) by Perris Monte Carlo (16 wears)
5. Russian Tea Ritual by Masque (16 wears)
6. Fate Man by Amouage (14 wears)
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
you're right the code does start with 7

two should do it huh?
where did you buy it from ?
N how much you paid ?
...and if you put your bottle on the the table for at least 5-6 hours, then rotate the bottle slowly watching in front of a lamp, you will notice a lot of "dust" or floaters, inside the bottle
the famous/infamous "real-oud-or-not" question
My vintage bottle also has 13 ingredients listed. Number of ingredients isn't the way to identify it's vintage or not. The bottle says it in itself
To ease you, I'm ready to trade my new version for the one that's confusing u
It's a vintage IMHO and I'll keep it close to me if I were u...Enjoy!

I'm skeptical about the equation "new bottles=reformulated M7", since lot of people are telling me they smell no real differences between fragrances in dark bottles and transparent ones.... unless we consider other factors. It seems that many transparent bottles contain the vintage juice.....and I personally think the reformulated M7 has little to do with number of ingredients AND transparent bottles. You can buy a transparent bottle with 13 ingredients on the box, and still have the perfect vintage.
Reformulated M7 exists, but is involved with other slight differences....
I'll have to post a whole new thread about it.
But isn't it a fact that the original M7 that first came out only had 4 ingredients listed on the box? Either it's a true fact, or it's false....
Either way it smells awesome but I wouldn't be surprised if it was reformulated, mostly because it's not as strong as I thought it would be.
My tester has the sticker on once side but lists 4 ingredients on the bottle. Is it Vintage or Reformulated?
I'm Still trying to figure out what the reformulated M7 looks like.
My bottle is all dark red/amber with a silver rim around the cap area. Pretty sure its vintage and its the only bottle I've seen. And by the way, this thing is absolutely gorgeous with nuclear a sillage and almost 24 hr longevity. It is kinda bizarre by today's standards actually.
Sorry for the old thread revival, but I need some advice, I have the opportunity to buy a tester of old M7 on ebay at a great price, however on the picture I cant see for sure if this is the vintage or the reformulated version of it, I contacted the seller and he doesn't know what I'm talking about, so here's a picture :
I suspect it's the reformulation, but not 100% sure about it
