Default Chergui and TV different enough to own both?

Just curious as I have never tried Chergui but have tried Tobacco Vanille? Just wondering how these to compare and if they are different enough to own both. Thanks

I don't have the nose to pick out individual nuances, but I think they are definitely different enough to own. Both are great scents.

Both are really good and definitely worth owning both. I would test them out first as I suggest after my flurry of buying that left me wondering why I wasted my money with certain frags. If you like TV I would look for a split going on which shouldn't be too hard and people should be willing to get ya samples of Chergui. I own both and love both. TV is a rockstar to me.

Definitely different enough to own both - I find TV is a sweet vanilla bomb all the way through, whereas Chergui's sweetness tempers as it dries, and the honey and hay notes give it a bit more of a dirty aspect.

Both very good, even great fragrances, but for me only Chergui is FB worthy. Along with Cuir Mauresque and MKK, it is the pinnacle of the SL house.

Be careful not to write-off Chergui on the restrained opening minutes, as I was tempted to do the first time. This juice blooms into a powerful tobacco fragrance that can fill the room if you're not careful. Two sprays maximum.

I have both, and like both - but they are pretty different. Except for the fact that you wouldn't want to wear either on a hot summer day most likely.

Both are good, but Chergui is more dynamic, and therefore more interesting imo.

Even tho they are different it doesn't mean its worth owning both of them. Test them first and than decide if you like them enough to buy them.

    Absolutely. Two very different fragrances.

Chergui has a nice cherry sirupe note. TV is all about highquality Vanille.

Again - very different. To me TV is straight up tobacco tempered with vanilla. Chergui is a more complex mix of sweetness and spices plus tobacco. I don't really think of Chergui as a tobacco scent, particularly when compared to Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque, which is tobacco heavy, but still nothing like TV. For a Lutens tobacco, I recommend you sniff out FT - otherwise get all three - they are all different and fabulous!!

I own TV and I have a sample of Chergui. They are definitely different. I also own Sova, and I feel like the similarities between Sova and Chergui are much closer (though not the same), so hard to say if it is worth me having Chergui as well.

Very accurate. I don't wear TV any more because of this, and wear Chergui more and more.

Completely different. Also, TFTV is quality, and smells exactly like the name suggests.

Chergui however is a masterpiece. I hope i'm never without it!

Chergui is powdery and more feminine and not for me, while Tobacco Vanille is dry and more masculine and one of my favorites.

Different, but must have's - unless u hate vanilla, in which case TV might not be for u. Chergui is a bit more floral. Both last long for my dry skin (10+hrs), but TV is prob one of the longest lasting perfumes out there...

@ Sparky - I agree - get all 3 if the wallet agrees. Worthy to own all 3...

Own and love both... different enough to have both.

TV - Sweeter with vanilla being more prominent and a fantastic tobacco note.
Chergui - The hay note plays a big role and works wonderfully with the tobacco.

I don't find Chergui powdery at all, I wouldn't care for it if it were.
They're both very different, and both amazing, although I find Chergui much more complex.
