Default The Smell of Rain in the High Desert

Hello, I am a natural perfumer living in Albuquerque Mexico. Right now I'm working on a fragrance that smells like the foothills during a summer rainstorm. I really need to find an ingredient or combination of ingredients that mimic that minerally O-zonic smell of wet sand and stone. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Probably will be tough in an all natural formulation...
Most likely you'll need to get this done with aromachemicals.

It is very expensive, but have you tried Humus Absolute? If you must tie yourself down to Naturals, I can't think of much else.

And what about some attars ? Mitti attar and probably some Gill attar, smells like baked earth. White Lotos aromatics has it in stock.

Finding all natural mitti attars is actually harder than it looks. Most attars are not actually distilled into real sandalwood, but a synth sandalwood blend, or DEP. Although I have seen Mitti attar distilled into Vetiver.

I agree with Conni and Paul, best shot are the attars, if you're looking for all naturals.
If you want to experiment with aroma chemicals, try combinations of Ultrazur, Calone, Precyclomone B, Adoxal and Melonal. They are quite common and not as expensive as the Humus abs.
