Default I have just picked up some warmer weather scents, how did I do?

Clinique Happy: This is an easy-going mandarin I will apply while lounging around the house.
Silver Mountain Water: This will be my daytime events scent, smells clean and delightful.
Mugler Cologne: Nice green scent, this will probably be my most used as it is versatile.
Bleu De Chanel: This will probably be my evening scent, nights out on the town.
Chanel Platinum Egoiste: This will be my classy, go to scent. Crisp button down oxfords.
Montblanc Legend: This will also be a night out to dinner scent.
Set Sail St. Barts: This will be my boating/partying on the docks scent-getting dirty.

So, any recommendations that you think I might enjoy? How am I doing so far?

So far, so good bro. Especially with SMW, Mugler Cologne and Set Sail, St. Barts. Real Summer scents. Enjoy bro!

Looks like you did pretty well, and spent quite a bit of money. I am not familiar with Clinique Happy or St. Barts. I love Silver Mountain Water and plan to buy a decant of it very soon.

Wowsah! That's a GREAT start!!! I've worn Happy, SMW, Mugler Cologne and Chanel's PE; also cool you have them "assigned" to detail!

...But that's cool, 'cuz I tend to do the same with mine! Enjoy!

Prada Amber... Soapy, a little sweet, very versatile. Love it. So do women.
Esencia Loewe... Very nice "green" scent. Masculine and classy. No negative reviews here at all, as I remember.

Other than the first and last which I personally don't like, I think you did well.

SMW and Mugler are top notch, though I wish Mugler lasted longer.

Of the ones I've tried, the only one I don't love is Set Sail, but it's not a bad scent. Oh, I guess I'm a bit tired of Bleu, too.

I think I'd wear the hell out of SMW from your group, with the others for a change of pace.
    Current Top Five:

    1. Creed Green Irish Tweed
    2. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
    3. Hermes Concentre d'Orange Verte
    4. Bond No. 9 New Haarlem
    5. Creed Original Vetiver

I like silver mountain water, I haven't given it enough wearing to warrant a full bottle purchase. I don't know if Bleu de Chanel would do well for you as a night out scent. I think it is a great work scent, or signature day scent for people, but nights out are generally cooler, giving you more room to wear something a little more risky. If you like the quality of SMW, and the coconut notes from St. Barts, check out Virgin Island Water. Just received a 4oz bottle for the summer, and I can see myself wearing this all the time.

    Cheers,

Great start - I own many from your list and enjoy them.

As far as recommendations... It is hard to recommend things to others, but you may want to start with Creed, Bond No. 9, Tom Ford, and by Kilian. Then branch out from there as opportunity presents itself. Just look through the fragrances, look at the notes and reviews, and order samples. The ones you love, get a full bottle of and enjoy!

Pretty good pickup! From your list, I really like SMW and Bleu de Chanel. As for recommendations, I suggest you try/sample Green Irish Tweed, Guerlain Homme (EDT or Intense), and Terre d'Hermes (EDT or Pure Parfum).

    Welcome to Basenotes!

I'm curious, were these blind buys or did you sample extensivly for all these picks? That was quite a haul for one purchase. Great choices IMO.

I'm a fan of Clinique Happy For Men. It's one I've owned for at least 11 years. Maybe 12. It's definitely underrated, but it isn't the best in terms of longevity, which is a bummer. If it works on your skin, it can be magic. Set Sail St. Barts is another one well known for being an excellent bargain but it has longevity issues too. Mugler Cologne is very well respected, if that matters. Bleu is a monster of a best seller, especially over the holidays, so it loses points for uniqueness in my book. Some people don't care about uniqueness though, so, only you can decide how much not smelling like other guys matters to you.

That being said, there's no way to answer the question of "how did I do?" since the only way to know that is to have smelled the scents you bought on your skin. There's nothing more important than how a scent wears on your skin. It's amazing - and sometimes frustrating - how different scents shine on different people.
In my swap list: Gucci Pour Homme (2003) BNIB.
I'm looking for Reflection Man or Andy Warhol (silver bottle w/Andy's face)

Hey Timmy, I actually purchased these in (2) buys. I smelled most of them first...although, the risky blind buy was the silver mountain water...however, as a lurker on basenotes for a while the reviews and descriptions of this scent had sold me. Which I do not regret at all.

I actually blind buy scents often, but I thoroughly research the blind buys first. I enjoy the excitement of reading several reviews and then pull the trigger...I have not been disappointed as of yet, I attribute this possibly to the fact that many people who enjoy fragrances are artistic and very good at describing a scent...perhaps an art of its own. Thanks! for the feedback.

Nice selection, and sure these'll do you proud all summer. If you're looking for more you could try:

    Virgin Island Water +1

APOM pour Homme - beautiful orange flower & light amber

Geranium pour Monsieur - minty fresh geranium

Great choice, I'd say, with this fragrance selection, you are pretty much plentifully supplied with great choices for warmer weather.

You could try Lalique White: "white shirt... strolling down the beach, thinking about nothing"
And if you like fresh minty scents, why not Verdon (L'Occitane).

+1 on Lalique White, but it may require a few wearings. I picked up a sample and was surprised by how much I disliked it, only to be surprised again months later when I tried it again and realized how much I enjoyed it. I ended up buying a bottle online. It's very affordable, but I'd still recommend it even if it weren't. Lalique White is really good stuff.

    Yep, I agree.

+1 on GIT and Terre de Hermes. People always say they get poor longevity with Mugler Cologne, but it lasts all day for me, and my skin devours scents most of the time.

    I would also recomend:

    Rive Gauche
    Encre Noir
    Racine by MPG
Colonia Assoluta by Aqua di Parma
    Caron Pour un Homme
    Original Tommy Bahama
    Chanel Pour Monsieur

... Fico Di Amalfi (Aqua Di Parma) is, IMHO, worth a sniffff!

Nice list. All have their place. Only thing I'd say is that Platinum Egoiste and Mont Blanc Legend are very much the same.
