Claim that 'Fifty Shades of Grey' is a groundbreaking book

It's poorly written, unsexy and boring

I almost lost some friends over that book, seriously it was insane. I couldn't believe a couple of the women who I THOUGHT were intelligent beings who actually defended that that that, oh I can't even think of an apt descriptor for it

I've heard it called "mommy porn".

My oldest daughter warned me off it, LOL! Said it was just kind of a badly written romance novel.

It does, IMO, expose the gaping void that exists around better written erotica for grown women though. If they are so starved for it that they'd buy the 50 shades books, then there is obviously an underserved market.

Well, thank goodness your daughter is there to protect your delicate sensibilities. I would guess that erotic literature could now be considered a true art form what with the prevalence of internet porn.

The one thing that strikes me particularly is that women should not dress in order to advertise all of their physical wares. I was in Vegas recently and it occurred to me that nearly every woman under thirty was dressed almost identically. Dresses so short that their buttocks were very nearly exposed, breasts exposed as close to the nipples as possible, caked makeup and heels at 5+inches. The irony is that each was trying to garner attention based on her appearance and they all ended up looking the same and it just seemed cheap.

I agree with whoever said that mostly covered is far more attractive than the alternative. Cheap will get you looked at, lusted after and possibly bedded, but not likely loved and appreciated for the individual that you are.

Sounds like most British cities on a Friday night

I agree with you. To me a very attractive girl becomes less attractive with every tattoo she adds on.

But for some women that's the point - they're not looking for deep long-term love and appreciation, just a night of fun. Men have done that for ages and that's ok, so why not?

I do agree that it looks tacky, though.
