JUst sprayed my wrist with Rume by Slumberhouse. I expect my girl to recoil
I was testing some Oud Oil and she thought that it stinks.
Unfortunately, it's a fragrance that I really like - Kouros by YSL. It's the only fragrance I own that has received more than one negative response.
My girlfriend really disliked Antaeus (unfortunately), and also DHI - she thinks it's too feminine, actually I think so, too, and I ended up selling my bottle.
The scent when i don't wipe good...
1. Amouage Homage Attar
2. Serge Lutens - Muscs Koublai Khan
3. YSL M7
4. Serge Lutens - Ambre Sultan
5. Chanel Egoiste
6. 24 Gold by Scentstory
7. Amouage Epic Man
8. Amouage Jubilation XXV
9. Bond No. 9 New York Oud
10. Serge Lutens - Chergui
"A beautiful fragrance to the nose is like good jazz music to the ears, great food to the mouth, and Megan Fox and Jessica Alba to the eyes..."
A*Men tops the list due to its potency, with the comments mostly coming from family members.
But one of my friends told me to never wear M7 again in front of him. I haven't, but he's also moving out of town next month.

My mission statement: "I am not afraid to keep on living - I am not afraid to walk this world alone."
I deliberately overspray a LOT of my frags for added longevity (layering the same frag on top of itself prolongs longevity on my skin like crazy) 4-6 sprays Antaeus, 5-7 sprays DHI, 4-5 sprays Kouros, 4-5 sprays Le Male, 3-4 sprays Montale Dark Aoud, 4-5 sprays Tobacco Vanille - I have never in my life heard a negative comment, perhaps because all around me have fainted before they can speak

A*Men with out question.... I literally have never met ONE person in real life that likes it. I think its disgusting as well though. To bad as bang for buck in terms of strength longetivety all that its the best ive ever smelled.
Recently, Puredistance's M got me a couple of negative comments, which makes me really sad.
I asked a close friend why and she said it was "too powdery and smells like something my dad would wear." I proceeded to ask whether the latter part was a good thing, but she said no.
Amouage fate man, had 2 people tell me it smells sweaty (which I agree with) my GF doesn't like black afghano. One frag which now gives me a right headache is scent story platinum, can't wear it anymore!
My girlfriend hated musc ravageur. She likes MI. Go figure.
I've only had negative reactions every time I wear Aventus, but the most recent negative comment was this morning. I asked my wife if she liked my cologne. She took a sniff, and immediately said, "No! You smell like a pine tree." I was wearing Bois d'Orage/French Lover. She also once told me that Guerlian Vetiver smelled "like vomit." Then again, she was pregnant at the time, and everything she smelled made her ill.
Not really any negative comments per se, though occasionally I get some remarks from friends and family when they think I overdo stuff. Like, yo that stuff is strong! Also my dad seemed to get annoyed once by versaces Eau fraiche...
My brother looks under his shoe for dog dung every time I wear Casbah (Robert Piguet). Unfortunately I get where he's coming from...

Wear what you want and don't listen to people who tell you that you didn't spend enough.
For sale/swap: Nautica Voyage, Individuel, Burberry London, Precious Woods, Halston Amber Man, Dirty English.
Tom Ford Black Orchid "You smell like cherry cough syrup", and JPG Le Male"You smell like baby powder".
DHI: "you smell like toffee"....
Gather ye pearls while the hog walks
I wore Soivohle: Journeyman to work the other day and got told that I smelled like I'd been sitting in an Indian restaurant for months.

Haven't had a negative in ages now. Which is nice.
Current faves: Aventus, Green Irish Tweed, MFK Masculin Pluriel, Dior Homme Eau
Fahrenheit is the main culprit for me. I find people outside the fragrance community are more likely to dislike it.
The Scent of Peace for Him. Bond no9.
New York Oud
Tea for Two
Have fortunately never received a negative comment. Though once my sister-in-law complained that Kouros was 'too strong'.
"just a smile would lighten everything"
My best friend (who is a woman) told me that I need to go lighter on the cologne after a day when I used two sprays of Bois de Portugal to my neck. I thought I was going light and actually thought the Bois de Portugal smelled awesome.
I have yet to receive a positive comment on Invasion Barbare. But I have received about a half dozen negative. Doesn't matter how little I use. Must just not work for me or something.

I dont know what my girlfriend could smell but she said she was not a fan at all, it reminded her of Poison. Now im pretty sure she was referring to Dior and not rat poison....
Some of my male friends tend to dislike any sweet scents, but in their definition, sweet is anything that is not like harsh old 80's era something (I mean not the best colognes of the 80's) or anything that is not fresher than fresh. I think they just find most colognes "too feminine" or whatever. So it is not about allergies, it's more about the lack of taste. Other than that, I am in a culture where everyone wears fragrances all the time, so virtually no negative comments so far... Oh, wait, one time someone told me that Un Jardin in Mediterrannee smelled like a rat's poison. But we were testing it together, so it's not exactly like I was wearing it and got that comment from someone...
Czech and Speake 88 - "you smell like Grandma's house"
YSL Jazz - "Sorry son, but could you please sit on the other side of the table"
Fahrenheit - "Please do not ever wear that again. You stink"
Creed Epicea - "you smell like Pine Sol... yuk"
Boss #1 - you smell like medicine, please go away
Montale Black Oud - "you smell like an old lady"
Montale Silver Oud - "you smell like Bandaids. Why would anyone want to smell like Bandaids?"
YSL La Nuit - "You are giving me a headache. Please wash that off"
Geranium Pour Monsieur - during the drydown, "you smell like hotel sheets.. I don't like it"
Creed Royal English Leather - "you smell like an old grandpa"
Chanel Egoiste - "What is that smell? Something is wrong!"
Terre d'Hermes without a doubt.
Reading the thread it's Americans that have a problem with fragrance on a whole.
