Agree with L'Homme. I also want to add another vote for Egoiste.

It smells nice but the powderiness may turn people off because it smells fem...

So I think if you don't like slightly fem and powder smelling scents, l'homme is not for you.

Personally, a must have in my collection is probably d&g the one.

I still think everyone should at least try Himalaya. It's not too expensive on the grey market, and it's a nice, classic men's fragrance.

    Rive Gauche
Dior Homme (though might not be "masculine" enough for some)
    Terre De Hermes
    Green Irish Tweed

I had to think long and hard about this one, as I'm not a fan of modern designer scents.

I'd say New York by Parfum de Nicolai.

Hmmm...there are better Creeds if you must recommend a Creed...Himalaya is the most generic bargin-basement smelling fragrance I know. Old lady soap, oh and a hint of sharp pepper. Had this been a Chanel or YSL product, everyone would be screaming about how unoriginal it was. Not to mention the OP said "affordable"

yeah, himalaya is a great versatile scent that could be in every collection. but it's the price that keeps it from being part of the average man's collection (as most men arent willing to pay $100+ for a fragrance). that, and the longevity/projection issues on top of the price. as well as the fact that creed has better offerings.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche, a great summer time scent that can be picked up at a fairly good price

Every collection should have a bottle of Habit Rouge EDC.

Dior Homme. It's well made, high quality, not generic. It has good performance but isn't a powerhouse. It's modern yet classic.

Knize Ten for sure but i would pay a lot of money to find out some bottle of my favorite Cuiron. I would add Macassar, Patou Pour Homme, Habit Rouge and Derby.
