Question Caron ~ Tabac Noir....has anyone tried this ?

I would love to know what this is like. It's very rare. I don't know when it was discontinued ?
Any info / pyramid notes would be very much appreciated.
I wonder how it compared to Tabac Blond ??
    Has anyone tried it ?

I don't know that one. There was an Or et Noir chypre and a Narcisse Noir.

I have tried to add this information as a review here several times, but it seems to be an 'unwanted' effort. Tant pis!

Here is my 'review' that I can still see open for edit:

I think I can add some details from the Martin-Hattemberg book 'Caron' which is stunning and a must-have for Caron lovers... all these fantastic vintage presentations and details! It is partly in English, but unfortunately this part was French only and mine used to be much better than it is today, but here it goes:
LE TABAC NOIR, 1943 is described here as a war version of Le Tabac Blond. The context to be seen and described in the book is the hard times during the occupation (WWII) and the difficulties to procure raw materials (French perfume houses even asked their customers to return used perfume bottles and boxes to be used again.). The Michel Morsetti composition of Le Tabac Noir and its exact composition is lost. There are images of the bottle and box in the book. There was even a hint in a correspondence that there was the idea of a TABAC BLANC in 1944, seen as contrast to NOIR, when people started to look a bit more hopefully into the future.

Maybe an interested party could email Octavian Coiffan for an inquiry...?

I should like to try this one. Has anyone here even smelled it?

(But what are my chances... vintage Tabac Blond is so eye-wateringly expensive as it is... 1 oz bottle, sealed but not quite full, at $500 on eB*y with nearly 3 days to go. Weep.)

Get the new Tabac Blond extrait.....most people think it's very comparable to the vintage stuff.

I do have it and love it actually, only that I tend to get a bit obsessive with things like this - which is why I feel like I need to track down the vintage stuff too... as well as find out more about this mythical Tabac Noir...
