Default Bleu de Chanel ; Le Male for Gentleman ?

Do you think Bleu de Chanel similar to Le Male ?
Do you think older gents , late 50's , can wear Bleu ?

... thought Bleu might be considered a younger mans scent

I'd say Bleu is more mature than Le Male. My ex girlfriend's 67 year old grandfather wears Aqua di Gio, and tbh it doesn't seem out of place on him. If you like Bleu then I say go for it!

No way similar. But I think any age could wear Bleu De Chanel.

Both are good scents, but if I had to choose, I would pick Le Male.

I think Bleu is suitable for almost any age of guys. And it is nothing like LeMale, which is definitely *not* suitable for older guys, in my opinion.

Not similar. If I had to choose between the two, definitely Bleu de Chanel, without hesitation. If you like something, wear it. Age does not make a difference. No such thing as a younger or older scent IMHO. No set rules on what you want to wear or what smells good to you

I'm with bigsteve - I find Le Male to be the brash, sweet fragrance best suited to the younger crowds.
Bleu is much more subdued and can be worn by anyone.

There is no comparison. Anyone can wear Bleu. Le Male is for 50+ imo.

I'm in my early 20's and I wear BdC, never really wanted to purchase Le Male.

Agree to the above - however, if you like something, go for it, irrespective of age...

LeMale is slightly more unisex, whereas Blue is decidedly more masculine.

I know attractive career oriented guys 35+, who dress and act like gentlemen, who wear Le Male. And it fits them.

These archetypes basenotes creates are just that. Creations. Fabrications.

I'll go wearing 1 Million in my suit and tie. Enjoy you're Musc Ravager.

BdC does not smell like Le Male. As to the age-typing of Le Male, i do not think anyone smelling Le Male on a 50+ man will think "smells too young for him". I have Boellis' Panama 1924 which is almost identical to Le Male (but much better quality, IMO). I do not think anyone would perceive the Boellis as marketed to youths, so.....

Yes, but there are much better options. When I hear "scent for Gentleman" I instantly think about L Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme.
Current TOP 7 from my collection:

    1. Gucci Pour Homme II
    2. Chanel Coromandel
    3. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
    4. Encre Noire
    5. Dior Homme Intense
    6. Timbuktu
    7. Dior Homme

While I sense no similarity between the two, I also think strongly that Bleu de Chanel can be worn at any age.
