Default If you were to create a fragrance...

This has probably been done before, I just couldn't find anything yet. So, here it goes!

If you were to create your own fragrance, which notes would you include? What would you name the fragrance? What concentration would you prefer to have it in? Write down your picks of notes to the Top, Middle and Base.

I think it's very interesting to see what kind of fragrance a person would make if the option was given to.

My ideal fragrance would consist of:

    Top
    Grapefruit, Tangerine, Watermelon

    Middle
Coconut flavored rum, cinnamon, candied black licorice

    Base
Vanilla, caramel, chocolate, tonka bean, orange peel

This would be an EPD called "A Piece of Heaven"
I love gourmand fragrances. Dark and extremely sweet is the way to go. The top notes are bright and zesty. After a good amount of time (1 - 1,5h) the fragrance starts to develop into something dark and heavy, sweet and sexy. The rum is coconut flavored, to give it an exotic feel. The cinnamon and the licorice ads a certain spiciness to this mid. We are now 6-7h into the fragrance, and it's time to leave it's middle stage to the grand finale. Here, it's still dark, but not as dark as the mid. It's creamy tonka and vanilla, sticky caramel dipped in an ocean of dark and bitter chocolate sauce, topped with the peel of a fresh hand picked orange.

I would kill for this fragrance right here....

    Have fun!

I like this idea - I've had concepts of the notes I like in my head for a while - Pell Wall do a bespoke service - might avail myself of that in the future!

    Top - Bergamot, Artemisia, Juniper

    Middle - Cardamom, Myrrh

    Base - Frankincense, Nagarmotha

The name 'Asura' springs to mind.

I like Leather, Oud and Patchouli as well but feel that these notes would overpower the others.

I would want to use the (pretend) Cassis note that is in Bn9 Bleecker Street and Lacoste Essential (its there, under all that tomato), with the (pretend) Rhubarb note from CdG Rhubarb. They are both tart, bitter and green (in a plant stem kind of way), and yet also slightly sweet and fruity at the same time. I think they would work well as a pair, the Rhubarb note is short lived, so it would be a top note, and the Cassis would take over in the middle.

    Something like:

    Top: Rhubarb, Verbena, Lime, Bergamot
Middle: Cassis, Petitgrain, Carnation, Ylang Ylang
Base: Moss, Labdanum, Hay, "Velvety Musk", Hinoki Wood (the musk being like the one in Mugler Cologne, very smooth).

This would be my attempt at a Fruity Chypre for men (why should the girls have a monopoly on a genre?)

I haven't thought of a name, maybe I'll edit this post in the future with one.

    Thanks for posting!

That's a great lineup of notes - thanks!

Some of my ideal fragrances would include: a barbershop style male iris fragrance, the most soapy clean interpretation of iris, also, a very traditional citrus scent (possibly including, but not limited to: conservatively elegant EDC features), furthermore, also a very classic and formal leather scent.

No idea about the top, middle and base notes used, but as long as I'd get most effectively to results closest to ideal vision of these three scents, (almost) any notes are allowed.

I don't really know how the scent pyramid works in practice, so I'll just list some ingredients:

Amber, smoke, tobacco, something for powder, Cardamom, myrrh

    Something for cold weather:

    Top:
    Coriander, tobacco, mace

    Middle:
    Cardamom, saffron, walnut, dates

    Base:
    Amber, ambergris, tonka, opoponax

Emphasis on the amber and dates. I was trying to fit in a woody note but none seemed to fit.

Top: Blueberry, Cherry, a very subdued Sweet Lime and mixed berries notes

    Mid: Coconut, Honey, Coffe, Vanilla

Base: Chocolate, Caramel, Sandalwood, Musk, Tonka bean and maybe a hint of Tobacco

    :P

This would be the perfect chocolate fragrance that I never found and never will...until I invent it, that is.

I would create a linear green fragrance like the ones by Diptyque. But adapted to my tastes.

Not too fussed about top middle bottom but i'd love a coffee fragrance that actually smelt like fresh ground coffee beans.

Coffee, Tobacco, birch tar, Patchouli, Cedar, Benzoin, Dark chocolate/cocoa, Labdanum.

    Should be nice

Another one I could try would be an EUCALYPTUS based fragrance. Something really new and very balanced. Heady top and middle notes with a warm sandalwood base.
