When I was at Walmart today, I noticed that Old Spice (once again) has a line of bar soaps. They come in three scents, one each from their three most popular collections: Pure Sport (High Endurance Collection), Swagger (Red Zone Collection), and Fiji (Fresh Collection). I picked up a 2-pack of the Fiji for $1.79 (6-bar packs are also available), and proceeded to take a shower with it.
First impressions: Not bad at all. The soap lathered very well for a mass-market brand and left my skin feeling just right. The scents need no introduction to many Basenoters (and Old Spice tends to have very good scents for the mass-market category). Still, the Old Spice bar soaps are not as heavily scented as their body washes. The scent disappears from your skin after washing unlike the lingering scent of Old Spice body washes. In other words, go ahead and spritz on that Aventus without fear after you take a shower with one of these bars.
And in a nod to Old Spice's heritage, the packaging has funny phrases like "soap on a rope without the rope". Gotta love P&G's Old Spice marketing.

My mission statement: "I am not afraid to keep on living - I am not afraid to walk this world alone."
Not bad at all for the price.
