Hey Alfa hope you are well buddy. If you have time give 1888 by Cassamorati 1888 a try. It definitely blew me away with it's sheer longetivity and opulence.

    Tom Ford Oud Wood…

I was wowed at how repulsive this fragrance is. Nausea inducing. Disgusting. Even worse, after scrubbing my hand 3 times it was still disturbingly strong.

Im still new to the fragrance scene so I guess im quite easily wowed.. It was my first time trying my Eva Kant decant, and it was great! The opening was fun with grapefruit bubblegum + citrus. Wanted to lick my shirt.

I'm new here, but wanted to ask what you guys think of Insurrection Pure? No, I dont' expect it to be EXACTLY like Aventus, but is it a decent scent in its own right?

I got a bottle of Jean Marc Sinan VO in EDP form. I've had the EDT for about 8 months now and have enjoyed it, but the EDP just seems to "have it." Not a huge difference, but it's smoother. Unfortunately it is rather uncommon and commands high prices, so I won't be seeking out another bottle, unless a deal comes along.

Chanel pour Monsieur is the recent one where I liked all the notes.
Prada Infusion de Vetiver has impressed, especially it's longevity.

I was pretty impressed with Bois d'Ascese. Especially on paper, I think its pretty fun and different. Sadly its a little to foody on my skin, and it really brings out a beef jerky kinda smell the first few hours. Though even on paper honestly I dont think its particularly wearable fragrance. But for what it is I liked it in its own kinda different way.

Recently have been wowed by Cedre du Liban by Chabaud - is slowly becoming my number one cedar prominent scent.

Oud Imperial by Perris Monte Carlo in the black bottle so some dealers call it "Oud Black" because there is a gold bottled one also. Anyway, Oud Imperial is a fantastic fragrance that might not have oud in it but the combination of woods, vetiver is so good, do I care if there is oud there? I am impressed - had to have a bottle. Thanks go out to CapriDog for sending me samples of several from the Perris line - Thanks Minh! They all are really good, and I finally ran across the line here in the U.S. at Nieman Marcus - a great value as they are relatively lower priced vs. comarable brands, if there are any! - all very good fragrances. I am going to revisit some of the others from Perris Monte Carlo - Bois d' Oud, Patchouli, Taif Rose etc. - smell excellent on first sniff. Oud Imperial "Black" is my first acquisition of this line - it is a WOW.

More recent (fall of '14) wow fragrances for me are a couple of Myrrh fragrances from Armani Prive Myrrhe Imperiale and from Mona di Orio Myrrh Casati. The Mona di Orio is softer, more civilized while the Armani Prive Myrrhe is a rugged green, forested growth of fragrance. Both are outstanding.

Also from Armani Prive Encens Satin is in the same genre of mesmerizing labdanum incense of Tauer L' Air du Desert Moroccain's warm spice wood amber. If it weren't for the similarity to the Tauer fragrance, this would be a runaway huge hit and the subject of lots of buzz. But it has already been done, in a way. It is different from LADDM by ending up as a frankincense predominant scent whereas LADDM is an amber dominant scent, but otherwise they smell similar. Encens Satin is a WOW fragrance worth mention and recommendation.

Recently, I have been completely blown away by these two fragrances:

Enigma Pour Homme by Roja Parfums and Red Hoba by XerJoff.

I think Enigma Pour Homme (I tried the Extrait) gets enough talk on here, so I will just say that it is without a doubt the most beautiful, spicy and cognac infused gentlemens fragrance I ever smelled. Warm, enveloping and full of charm, this fragrance truly is an enigma.

Red Hoba is extremely underrated, this fragrance deserves much more praise. The opening is like a storm made of incense, cool and striking. Just a few moment after this first impression, a thick but not syrupy red fruit and spice accord mixes with the incense. Wow, this smells like putting your nose into a big bag of red and spicy tea. In the drydown the whole thing gets softer and just a little sweeter, but mixed with enough woods and a hint of animalic funk in the background to keep it extremely interesting. A fantastic perfume, I hope they will not discontinue it anytime soon. Up until now, most people I know disliked it for being too "strange" and daring. XerJoffs Blue Hope, which is also excellent (a soft, woody/fruity gourmand with saffron and citrus), seems to get all the love.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa. At first I found it a bit "meh". As I emptied my sample vial I began liking it more and more. A year goes by. Recently I ordered 5 Acqua di Parma samples (Assoluta, Essenza, Oud, Leather, and Intensa(again)). As soon as I again tried Intensa: wow! Bought a bottle soon thereafter.

Christmas came early for me today, Received a bunch of 1ml samples of many fragrances I have been dying to try out. Midnight in paris and pure malt on each hand and I was so delighted with the midnight in paris I cant stop holding my hand to my nose pure malt is dominating the longevity of the two which is also a very nice surprise but this time MIP had me from first sniff WOW, I can't believe the price of it too such a bargain for a great scent imo.

Not a "wow" and not sure if it's because I'm in my thirties, but I am developing quite a respect for some Tom Ford Private Blend fragrances. Tried Oud Wood and Tobacco Oud today and taking the "oud" thing aside... man, they smell darn good.

Yea, I think the tobacco note is pretty amazing. I think some people have said it's a better tobacco vanille. Oud wood is also good......longevity isn't great, but I think I care about that as much a I used to. I just got oud fleur and the rose note is great....I think its more rose and patchouli.

A recent acquisition, Shay and Blue London - Blacks Club Leather. WOW... A huge stand-out in the sea of otherwise mostly generic fragrances. Little known company on this side of the pond, and certainly worth checking out, guys. Same goes for their Oud Alif - it's also fantastic. Two big thumbs up.

The only problem with all these fancy bottles is that you just know the Baccarat crystal bottle is $2825, and the fragrance itself is only $175... :-|
