Default Are all the perfumes counterfeited?

I was wondering if we know what kind of perfumes are counterfeited or not. Are niche perfumes counterfeited , like say CdG? Are all the designer perfumes?

I ask because sometimes I see on different local forums really good offers and I'm thinking that maybe they are fake - the price is quite low -.

For now I'm thinking about getting a Lalique Encre Noir for 30$. Can this be fake?

I would say the most popular ones are the ones that someone is going to bother to spend the money to counterfeit. Most niche fragrances are not popular enough to make it worth someone's while to counterfeit them.

Not even all the Creeds...e.g., there are fakes of Green Irish Tweed, but I don't know of fakes of Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare.

Somehow I doubt that Encre Noir is that popular.

I wouldn't worry about Encre Noir.

To go to all that work to make a plausible fake with all the right packaging, you would need to have them blend in and sell many, so anything too off the rails just wouldn't be worth all that trouble would it? That one is quite a difficult bottle with all the stripes and the thick edges. Chanels are easy by comparison.

Are you refering to Lalique or Guerlain now?

But I totally get the point. I'm mostly curious if people know anything about known counterfeits.

I agree, It's the very popular fragrances that are in simple packaging make the easiest target for counterfeiters. There are fragrances that are cheap that have been diverted from the grey market or other countries that aren't fake, but just illegally gained.

Is buying them somewhat unethical? If you know there's probably illegally gained?

You can buy the bottle of Encre Noire without any worries. It is a great perfume but it is cheap. And it is not popular enough to be counterfeited.

I highly doubt Encre Noir is counterfeited.

Almost all niche perfumes aren't counterfeited. Creeds are the exception.

As for designers, if it's not a top seller, it won't be copied.
