If you're still looking try Bulgari pour Homme. I get a lot of black pepper right from the start -- though it seems like my nose gets it way more than the average reviewer. Still, it's a really nice scent, not sweet at all, and easy enough to find at your department stores, Sephora, etc.; so worth a try, I'd say. Maybe it'll work for you as well.

I commented about it to the gentleman before you. From Fragrantica:

Iso E Super has (not something one would describe as a concrete smell), and at the same time, how unapologetically synthetic, perhaps vaguely cedar-like, slightly sweet, nuanced, even peppery (in combination with other notes) it smells when you really notice it.

I'm with the "not sweet" guys on Bang. I also think it smells like black pepper.

Some great suggestions here. My personal favorite black pepper fragrance is Burberry The Beat. It's not sweet.

I strongly concur! +1! This is a wonderful composition from Oscar de la Renta...amazing quality for the price.

A wonderful black pepper note with elemi resin, wood and a very natural feel. Nice nutmeg is in here too, along with citrus in the top.

Also, I happen to like Marc Jacobs Bang! - it has excellent QPR and wears well, especially when layered into a citrus scent that you want to add some fresh ground pepper to.

    Cheers,

+1 on Burberry The Beat, too.

Very nice juice and one I like in Spring and Fall the most...now is perfect for it.

Excellent peppery fruity citrus. Very gentlemanly despite the fruits.

Another pepper bomb with no sweetness is Bang by Marc Jacobs.

I agree with the many suggestions of Oscar For Men and, - if you can still find a bottle of it anywhere - Polo Sport Extreme is the most peppery scent I've come across. My only problem with Oscar for Men is that I get sensitised to it, so that instead of it having worn away by the end of the day, it seems to have grown in strength and screams black pepper at me.

For less projection than the other two, Villoresi's Piper Nigrum would do nicely.
    Regards,

Yes ... Burberry's The Beat. A blast of black pepper off the top blended nicely with vetiver.

This fragrance has really dropped off the radar here at Basenotes

Marc Jacobs BANG has the most powerful projective black pepper smell I have ever smelled in a fragrance.

So, Bang seems to be dividing opinions if it sweet or not but one thing that stands out is that it is peppery. With that, it's on the list.

I've ordered some Oscar which was dirt cheap.

L'occitane is on its way too.

Confidentiele is on the must try as we'll as some of the other more obscure (to me anyway) scents.

Gucci is a no go, tried it and I'm struggling to get past a sweetish note.

I want black pepper from start to finish. I can see this is going to be a long and enjoyable path. Like, I dunno, lord of the rings but actually good.

Only one poster thinks it has any sweetness, the majority are in agreement that it is anything but sweet. If you want peppery this should please you.

It's the Iso E Super that's doing it and that does have a slight amber like sweetness to it. I know some people can't even smell Iso E Super so whatever I'm smelling is specifically that molecule. Have worn a lot of fragrances that have quite a bit in it, but for some reason the combination of that and the notes in Bang are playing tricks with my nose.

I wore The Beat yesterday. It's pepper from start to finish. Everything else (woods, vetiver, bourbon) is hiding behind the pepper. There is a floral note in the mid, closer to the opening, it smells like lavender to me, but I could be wrong.

    Burberry the Beat
    Marc Jacobs Bang

My other favorite black pepper scent is Scent Two:Laurel by Monocle x CdG and Poivre 23 by Le Labo - both of which are harder to source and more expensive than the Marc Jacobs.
