Default AdG, Bulgari Aqua, or Others?

Hey what's up, so kind of torn here between this issue. AdG smells good and I'd like to get it, but a few things come to play: 1) Not sure if its long-lasting, and projects strongly; 2) Everyone wears it. Does the fact that its so common make it a disincentive for anyone to purchase it? Can anyone who wears AdG confidently say that they none the less get compliments when wearing it?

I really can't pick between AdG and Bulgari Aqua, both are real nice! Which between these two, if you have them gave you the most compliments? Which is longer lasting?

Second, I have PE 360 Red, but the atomizer is atrocious, way too stiff to press, yet AdG's is all better, but not sure if it lasts longer.

Anyone have any other light, aquatic fresh recommendations that give loads of compliments?

AdG is much better IMO than the Bulgari.

I think Bulgari Aqua is excellent! Owned ADG in the past, and while it is nice, I love Bulgari as it is more unique and does not smell like everything else out there. Lasts fairly long on me and gets nice compliments. I also love Chanel Allure Homme edition Blanche. Personally I would pick the Chanel or Bulgari over ADG. The Chanel is my fave amongst the Chanel Allure line for sure

IMO, skip both and try Inis by Fragrances of Ireland.

I believe in a line from the movie "Death In Venice", by count Luchino Visconti and based on a novella by Thomas Mann:

Alfred: Do you know what lies at the bottom of the mainstream? Mediocrity.

I like the somewhat similar Halston Unbound better than the two you mention, and you can probably find it significantly cheaper.
Otherwise, many of the old Eternity Summer scents would do the trick as well, and Paris Hilton's Just Me less so.

If you liked something less mainstream, there's an alternative to AdG which's Verdon from L'Occitane. Superb refreshing fragrance and very similar to AdG that i am thinking to get one or Essenza.

Bulgari Aqua is nice and unique aquatic if you can tolerate seeweed note. It was my first designer scent that I bought but I had to sell my second bottle because I could not stand it anymore. Now I prefer Acqua Di Gio over it.

If you are looking for something fresh and unique maybe check Mugler Cologne which is on my to buy list for summer.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza is amazing. Its very fresh.

If you want to stick to designer stuff though, in the 90's i always preferred Issey Miyake to ADG.

If you want an aquatic that smells different and superior to the rest tryHeeley Sel Marin, beautiful stuff.

If budget is a problem I'd have Mugler Cologne over the alternatives (AdG et al), any day of the week.
Well, it's cheaper than therapy... edit: No it's not...

I agree. As to compliments and the like I really can't say as I don't wear either much... My favorite aquatics as mentioned in a recent thread are Voyageur by Jean Patou (discontinued) and New West for Him by Aramis. Another noteworthy release I can recommend that while not really an aquatic, has a distinct marine vibe is Bergamotto Marino by Ferré

I just checked on L'Occitane US website and it seemed they either run out of stock or something, only other toiletries products from this line available at the moment. Perhaps try give them a call to the customer service or stop by a boutique to see.

ADG easily scores in most categories, also including compliments.

I think Givenchy pour homme Blue Label is superior. It's a blue aquatic that has strength and longevity, and I think it is better than the two you listed. Plus, it is not ubiquitous like ADG.

Between the two, I'd go with AdG

I like them both, but Bulgari Aqua is superior in my opinion. I would recommend Clinique Happy, its a great one-I carry an atomizer so I don't have to worry about the longevity. The smell is worth it to me.

if AdG is VW Golf, then Aqva is Audi A3 IMO.
