Exclamation SotD Tuesday, March 19, 2013

    Good morning everyone!

It's a mess out there-- snow, sleet, I can hear ice needles now and it's not done yet. They haven't cancelled/delayed school yet but I expect the automated call any moment. I'll be clearing the snow alone today while daughter hobbles around with her knee immobilizer indoors.

Edit: Only a 90 minute delay. Just as well-- they kids have had too many snow days already this year.

My SotD (not applied as yet-- hubby is still asleep) is Fleur de Thé Rose Bulgare because, hey, spring is just around the corner, snow and ice notwithstanding!

Stay safe, everyone who is dealing with this storm-- the roads must be treacherous.

    What are you all wearing?

    Morning All,

Thankfully no snow here (plenty of grey clouds about, though).

    Eau de Patou
today. Out tonight to celebrate the persian New Year with some persian friends. There's a tradition of jumping over a fire today also, but I think we might skip that.

    All the best to everyone.

    Good morning my lovelies!

L'artisan Mimosa pour moi, er, pour moi!

I keep thinking "cucumbers" when I wear this. Still, it's nice and fresh and I'll be warring more of it when we FINALLY get some warm weather.

Good morning all !. Go carefully 30R - conditions sound really treacherous over there.

    SotD is Ghost Deep Night.

Jenny bought this in duty free yesterday and I applied cautiously as I am lounging at home. In all honesty though, I see no good reason why I couldn't wear this sparingly when out and about - it's pretty unisex to my nose (good value for money too). As regards the crescent moon bottle, the jury is out. Can't quite make up my mind whether it is appealing and unique or whether it sucks big time. Opinions welcome .

    Mind your toes, G

I'm craving peonies thanks to 30R's latest sample pass, so I'm in Pivoine Rose by Ava Luxe, the most luscious and authentic peony perfume I know.

There is a fog on the bay here, and can see a ghostly looking city across the water, birds wheeling in the mist...Very lovely. Also the radio had good music on the way in, and I am enjoying the Neil Morris City Rain more than I expected to, was very indecisive about smell this morning but it fits perfectly. Worked out, eating a delightful museli and going to start working now. Hopefully no shoe yet to drop, the morning has been gorgeous and enjoyable; I don't usually feel like such a 'morning person' but I can understand it after this one.

The snow is coming down heavily here, and it looks like it's not going to let up for a week or so. Why oh whyyyyy do I live in the north?

But, Oh JOY! My samples/decants came yesterday from STC. Mystery sample solved, it definitely is Memoir Woman, although somehow the old one turned rose colored over the course of setting out for a year. The new sample is definitely a light amber/yellow. But they both smell heavenly. It's warm and dense and luxurious, and I'm enjoying it on a day when winter won't go away. I was planning on eventually treating myself to a full bottle when I'm on vacation in Europe in May. But I wonder if by then I'll be longing for sheer and cool.

    Stay warm 30R!!

Today is a sad day. This morning my beloved dog passed away, after fifteen years of living with my family. I was 8 when we gave her home and love. Now I'm 23 and she's not here anymore today. As I write this I cry a sea of tears, hoping she went to a Dog Heaven!

30 Roses - be careful shoveling that snow. We don't need another of you bumped/bruised.
No snow here - but lot's of rain which only intensifies the humidity/dampness in the air. I bought some of those Damp Rid buckets for the interior closets in my new apartment, so that at least they don't smell musty anymore (this place doesn't have central a/c and sometimes when the doors are closed they smell like tombs when you open the door). When the rain stops it just looks grey and downcast. Should have worn Mitsouko, instead I'm in:

Yes, all dogs go to heaven because they are all pure and loving, trusting in their owners to be as good and kind as they are. And don't you think you and your family provided that? I imagine you did, and should be content with that knowledge. But you are certainly allowed to cry and be sad. They are family. I'm sorry, lucasai. Take care of your fragile self today.

Oh, no Lucas, I am so sorry! She was such a beautiful little thing; still remember the story of your dad finding her and bringing her home to your loving family. What a sad day indeed, I'm tearing up right along with you. You gave her a long and happy life, this will help ease the pain eventually. But I know how awful today feels to you, it will be hard for awhile. Lots of us here have lost beloved furry family members; you chose the right place to share. cello is absolutely right, I believe. I know she had a wonderful life; she was your little princess! Big, tight hugs to you, am just so sorry and sad.

Oh, lucas, I am so very sorry. I know how heartbreaking it is. It's part of the cruel bargain we pet owners strike, isn't it? They give us unconditional love and the joie de vivre that it often seems only pets have, and we make the best decisions we can for them in life and in death. And we only get them for a relatively short time. It's wrenching.

After my Dugan died last fall, my mom sent me this bit of internet wisdom from some (possibly apocryphal) 6 year-old boy who undertook to explain to his parents why their beloved family dog had a much shorter life than their own. He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

It's as good an explanation as I've ever seen. (((Lucas)))

    I'm in Lanvin Oxygene today.

Sorry to hear of your loss Lucasai

I know the real reason why we survive our furry soul mates. It's so that we can love them and know that they are protected until their very last moments and know that they will never have to survive without us, their protector and carer. It's meant to be this way because how would we deal with knowing that they were going to live longer than us and have to learn to live with someone else in their old age?

I know it's not the real reason, but it helps me to cope with losing my furries

I hope that you will be able to remember your little one with love but without pain soon.

((Lucas)) Your tears are your love. Bless all your family. It may help to plant a little tree or special bush together maybe.

Was in lots of ingredients today, and half made things to test run accords.

Oh Lucas. How sad. She looks like a gentle natured little soul. It is right that you cry a sea of tears, because you loved her. Look after yourself. I'm thinking about you. ((((Lucas)))).

Lucasai, I am a life-long doxie lover and deeply sympathize with what you're going through.
After 16 years with Freda and 15 with Greta, I recognize that gray-haired snout on your sweet girl well.
They are so special with all of their digging, burrowing, sun-bathing, squirrel-chasing, wagging, snarfing snacks behind our back and kitchen-floor tapping toenails.

    Sending healing thoughts your way.
