Default iPhone apps to help perfume sampling?

When I'm traveling I'm sometimes lucky enough to stumble across a shop that carries a fragrance line I haven't tried before, or some obscure fragrances I might not have heard of. It would be great if there were an app that did the following:

    - let you search and list fragrances by house with special symbols for ones that were limited edition or out of production

    - let you quickly look up reviews on Basenotes etc.

    - let you add them to a wishlist

    - let you very quickly review them with star ratings, drop downs containing notes/accords, text fields where you could add your own thoughts etc.

    - ideally some GPS integration, imagine being able to walk down the street and have a alert go off to the effect of "you have CDG Hinoki on your wishlist, you're within 3 blocks of a store that carries CDG"

I'm no software developer so I'm sure someone can do better than this! Does anyone know if an app like this exists at all, or if there are any other apps that can let you quickly review fragrances on the go?

Basenotes should definitely develop an app, I can think of that it would be very useful to review fragrances and discover new ones.

Haven't searched for "perfume" at AppStore though, what kind of apps do they have right now?

My immediate reaction is there isn't a big enough market to justify the time and expense of such a sophisticated app

I would pay 1.99 for a nice application for perfumes. I have an ipod touch.

I would be pleased if they could maintain this site.

Being able to look at this database and the Fragrantica database plus YouTube reviews all from my phone is more than enough for me personally.

I know this isn't what you're looking for, but I use Notesy and I love it. It syncs with Dropbox, which means it also syncs with Notational Velocity on my Mac. In case you're not familiar, Notational Velocity is basically a brain-dump app for notes. In other words, it's a note taking and storage app.

I keep a list of scents to try, divided by stores... so, if I'm headed to Nordstrom, I can whip out my iPhone and see which scents I wanted to sample there. I even have a Seattle-specific list since there are so many things that can't be found where I live.

Notesy for iOS, Notational Velocity for Mac, and Dropbox to sync it up. This setup has been flawless for me.

I do this too, but I wish Fragrantica's reviews pages were more mobile-screen friendly. They're ok on a tablet, but they suck on a phone.

it would be awesome if the app came with a "scratch & sniff" function too

iPerfumer is about it. Since it is run by Givaudan, it takes quite a while for any frags from any other of the "industrial" perfumers to appear.
