No idea. I recently tried Dark Aoud and Black Aoud. The former was horrible, and the latter was just too heavy rose... too much fem or grandmotherly vibe. Just my opinion. Wife couldn't handle either one, also.
Maybe there's a great Montale, but I don't know when or if I'll find it.

dark aoud and cuir d'arabie...Louban has a sexy dusty rose thing going on...I LOVE it on my wife.
Tom Ford Splits Oud Wood / Tobacco Vanille / Tobacco Oud / Neroli Portofino / Noir de Noir / Tuscan Leather / Plum Japonais/ Oud Fleur / Italian Cypress HERE
Also White Aoud, slightly more feminine. It's indolic, with a little smoke and vanilla too.
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Aoud Lime followed by Dark Aoud - based solely on female compliments I recvd...

The Red one. White one is also nice, Black one wasn't as scary as advertised. But the Red one was actually very pleasant and nice, definitely like a going out type of nice, sexy too.
White Aoud & Golden Aoud, don't hear much about the Golden Aoud but I love it. Then again, I like my aoud soft and somewhat muted.
Dark is easily my favorite. Moon is good.

Try Caron's Secret Oud, too--I remember it as a smoother Black Oud.
From my limited experience with Montale, Black Aoud.
Montale Oud Cuir d'Arabie by a mile.
Aoud Cuir D'Arabie, hands down.

Although not my absolute favorite of the line i quote Black Aoud as properly sexy and probably the sexiest.
