Where did you find out?
I never knew they changed the formulation to this stuff. My bottle is a 2006 bottle so I am assuming it is vintage. And this is a real shame because I only have a small 1.7 oz bottle and hear the new juice isn't up to par. Anyway can anyone comment on what the newer juice is like compared to the older stuff?
Where did you find out?
I've noticed that the black rubber tester at work smells completely different to my refills. Well, not completely different. The tester is much "thicker" smelling whereas my bottles at home are much more focused on the lavender in the topnotes. My friend wears around 10 sprays of A*men and i've never thought it was offensive or overpowering on him. Interesting stuff
I got a bottle last January, and I'm not getting any beast projection or longevity with it.
Just last week, I tried two on the chest + one on the neck, and I could barely smell it even during the first couple hours.
I have a feeling it was reformulated long before then. My juice in my bottle from 2000 would easily last 20+ hours... on 1 spray.
I have the one that was first released on the market, but all incarnations of this scent are fine IMO.
I noticed it was weaker when I tested it alongside Pure Leather. Doesn't really affect me because I'd rather wear Animale Animale. Seems to be the modern trend in perfumery to make things weaker and more acceptable to the masses.
Smells the same to me.
Less tar, less projection and longevity. It is still above average but not as monstrous as it was.
TOP 5 hot weather:

TOP 5 cold weather:
1. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
2. Chanel Coromandel
3. Dior Homme Intense

5. Byredo 1996
Wiuldn't surprise me. My juice is nowgere near as potent or loud especially in terms of projection as any of the reviews and it ain't my skin, since frags like this usually do quite well. Same for 1 Million, nowhere near as potent as the forum says.
I'll go with that, i always thought A*men was a K.O fragrance similar to JOOP homme or something, but i have to wear like 5 sprays at work. It smells the same just thinner and less projection, still lasts a while.
I cant imagine wearing 5 sprays of Joop! omg i'd die lol.
Current Top 5:
2. Oud Wood
4. By. Kilian A Taste of heaven
5. Frederic Malle- Musc Ravageur
If it's true, that would explain my less than stellar projection test results with A*Men.

I just got a bottle about 6 months ago so I'm guessing it is post 2010. Somedays I feel like it's not projecting very loudly at all and other days I'm almost embaressed by how loud it seems.Same amount of sprays in each instance-4. I guess it;s just how I'm percieving it, but it seems hit or miss. Either way it's one of my favorite and most fun frags to wear.
Where did you get your info about A-Men being reformulated?

I purchased a bottle from Dillards in March 2012 and it projects amazingly and lasts forever on my skin....
My Top '10' : (In no particular order)
- Dolce & Gabbana: Pour Homme (vintage)
- Paco Rabanne: Pour Homme (vintage)
- Loewe: Esencia/Pour Homme/Solo/7
- YSL: Opium Pour Homme Edp
- Jacques Bogart: Bogart Pour Homme (2004)
- MPG: Santal Noble
- Guerlain: Vetiver
- Amouage: Jubilation XXV
- Hermes: Terre d'Hermes
- YSL: Kouros (Fraicheur)
always remember, 99% of perfumes were reformulated in 1999/2000 (mild restriction laws) , and then in 2009/2010 (economic crisis + hard restriction laws)
I picked up a 50ml bottle a year ago (from a discounter, so it may be old stock), but I get great results from only 2 sprays, and I'm generally a heavy applier of scents. 3 sprays is too much for me, unless I will be driving around with the window for a while to let it die down.
Nevertheless, it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that this has undergone minor reformulations multiple times.
To me this would be an improvement. Never found this to sit well with me and is quite cacophonous.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Absolutely rediculous , I have an angel men from both 09 and 11, and they smell the complete same. No new notes, no toned down tar. Fragrances change regardless after a few years or so so that's why maybe you smell something slightly different or get lessened projection. There has been no reformulation at all
How can you tell which is vintage and which is reformulated ? Is it simply that the former is in the sky blue box, and the latter is in the dark grey / black box ?
Got a bottle last May at Macy's (black rubber covered bottle) and it's strong on 2 sprays, lasts a long time, too.
I really don't enjoy any version of this fragrance, no point with Pure Malt around IMO.
