I discovered that same violet leaf-jasmine accord on my own experiments. Somehow the new Eau Sauvage parfum's vetiver-jasmine gives me a similar vibe, though the drydown is quite different.
I like this scent so much and would like to find some other scents alike it, but not flankers.
That's a great question. I can't think of anything comparable.
I was thinking the other day that Musc Ravageur might be the Santos of its time. Starts off a bit animalic and confrontational and calms down to a supple, velvety smoothness. Most of the notes are different, but the procession of images is similar. The mixing with Santos is smoother though, so you can't really tell when one song ends and another one begins. And Santos has this almost fathomless depth to it.
The only contemporary of Santos that I thought was similar was Giorgio VIP Special Reserve.
Some people might say Chanel Antaeus.
The format of Santos should be easy enough to understand - sweet and rich, dirtied up - but I don't have wide enough experience to really have a ready comparable.
Santos is unique, one of a kind. There are some scents with a sometimes a bit similar structure or vibe. Calvin Kleins Obsession, Santos with lots of cinnamon in it and without the floral aspect. Jaques Faths Pour L'Homme, Paco Rabannes Tenere, Passion For Men by Elizabeth Taylor, Van Cleef & Arpels pour Homme is a cousin of Santos. Daniel Hechters Caractere and Crabtree & Evelyns Sandalwood are also near relatives. Try them out, and try to get the Santos Vintage Version, its timeless perfection.
IMO. Santos is pretty unique.
Alain Delon Classic .....
many of those mentioned above are not even close ...

Not exactly the same, but I get a similar vibe with Bogart Signature.
Molinard's Teck smells to me like a lighter, cleaner Santos.
ointments and perfume delight the heart....
Another recommendation in favor of Van Cleef & Arpels pour Homme
I recommend Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui. Not the same as Santos, but I if you like Santos, I think you'd enjoy it.
In the drydown Santos and Opium pour Femme EDT have something in common. Same with Coco Chanel EDP. Rich spicy juices all. I fell in love with Santos in the 80s and seldom have been without it.
