Shame...Hope you get your refund. You could try to describe the scents here, and we'll help you identify them. Things like VIW and Bois de Portugal should be quite easy to identify.
Thread: Leaked Creed samples ... |
2.5 weeks ago I ordered 11 Creed samples from the UK online store Roullier White.
After lots of anxious waiting the envelope finally arrived. I was already now annoyed that the shipping charge was so high plus I know there are perfume companies that send out samples for free. Also the delivery time was way too long, England is not that far from Sweden, and its just an envelope.
When I open it I quickly realize that something is wrong. All the labels are smudged out and I can smell a really powerful fragrance. I stick my hand into the envelope and can immediately feel my hand is wet and soaked in fragrance. 3 of the fragrances were official Creed cards with 2.5 ml juice, but the rest were 1ml mini glass vials.
How am I supposed to know which one is which now...
I'll hope they refund me, I doubt I will order from them in the future.
Samples ordered:
- Erolfa
- Green Irish Tweed
- Himalaya
- Millesime Imperial
- Original Vetiver
- Original Santal
- Royal Oud
- Silver Mountain Water
- Virgin Island Water
- Tabarome
- Bois du Portugal

Ironically the only label that I could read was "Vetiver". Which means I got 2 of the same scent and one missing =(.
About to smell them now, so far identified:
3 official carded samples:
*Millesime Imperial (smelled cheap and very mainstream, is it just me?)
*Original Vetiver + "Vetiver" (same scent)
*Original Santal (very interesting fragrance, but not something I'd wear in public)
*Royal Oud (didnt like it)
*Tabarome (quite nice)
Something tells me the vial that leaked was the one I was most excited about - Virgin Island Water, but not 100% certain.
If you don't smell coconut, it's not Virgin Island Water that leaked.
I would send them the picture and tell how disappointed I am. Some are nice and will happily compensate, others not. Give it a try.
Nice table/sideboard, by the way.
You've got a not-so-difficult exercise ahead of yourself on identifying the samples. Shame about the leaking and the repeat on vetiver.
I didn't like Royal Oud at first, either, but I gave my sample another sample and thought it was quite nice- just not what I look for in an oud frag.
Hope you can get a refund/exchange.
Okay I could decipher some more:
*Virgin Island Water was not one of the leaked ones. Smells like a nice coconut drink, though a bit alcoholly.
*One scent smells very fresh and intense, could it be GIT?
*One scent's label end's with a 'T', it's not GIT because the word is longer, dunno which it is. Smells light and unusual. Spicy.
*One of the labelless smells woody and light
*The last one smells very vanilly.
*The leaked scent smells like a sexy designer's fragrance. Very mainstream.

Already sent them a picture with a description, haven't replied though. We were in contact during the whole purchase plus shipping anyway...
Thanks, I bought the table second hand and really like it. It's a coffee table with granite inserts.
The spicy scent (the one ending in 'T', I think) is not Tabarome, I could decipher the word with a magnifying glass on one of the vials
Aventus was not among the those I ordered. I already blind purchased Aventus and LOVED it. Not much impressed with these samples though...
Hope that works out for you.
Nah I ordered mine from Roullier White.
Can I still ask for a refund despite them sending out replacement samples? I feel like I'm coming off as greedy then. :S

I wouldn't bother asking for a refund if they were understanding and willing to send out replacement samples. If the replacement samples come damaged, then yes, ask for your money back, but it sounds to me like they were interested in making the situation right.
I am glad they did the right thing and re-sent the samples.
My apologies for the lack of clarity. The hint regarded the presence of an ubiquitous, cheap house note in most Millesime's. (That is not always the case with either the "exclusives" or with the paradoxically cheaper EdT's, of overall better quality.) A case in point is Millesime Imperial, which seems to exhibit this (after a while) annoying aromachemical in a half-nude, particularly crude manner. So the joke regarded the difficulty of distinguishing between various Millesimes once you're down to the basenotes.
Other than that, I empathized with your annoyance and I am happy they're sending well-deserved replacements, as they should. Enjoy!![]()
^^^ Its much funnier with the long, drawn out explanation.

I'd like to hear more opinions on what to do when you receive damaged merchandise in the mail. Maybe someone should start a poll!
It will be interesting to see if you still get leakage, no matter how "improved" the packaging is.
My sneaking suspicion is that air shipment, and the resulting variations in pressure during shipment is the culprit here. Even if you do hear that baggage compartments are supposed to be pressurized. Temperature changes might do it too.
Some sprayer mechanisms seem better able to resist these pressure changes than others. The *more* air a container has in it, the more it will leak liquid, it seems, because there is a larger volume of air to expand and contact.
Did your package arrive yet, OP? If yes, did it leak again?

Creed is the most commercial house out there. The very best for those who don't know any better. LOL

Damn that's serious mate. Imagine you trying to run a business and being treated this way. They really trying to fix the situation the best way they can.
Nope =/ It's been more than 2 weeks and just as last time they delivery service is not much faster than a crawling turtle....
During this time I've gotten 3 packages from US, 2 from France, 1 from Guernsey, 1 from UK.
How long can it take to send a padded envelope within Europe?
