Default Millesime Imperial vs. Allure Homme Sport & Bleu de Chanel

Hey all, was going to ask you for your opinion on this --

I need to decide between Millesime Imperial OR Allure Homme Sport + Bleu de Chanel for this summer.

Decided not to go w/ GIT due to the similarities shared by Cool Water.. not going to pay $120+ just for it to be mistaken by others as a $30 frag

    Thoughts?

    MI stomps the other two.

Would it be safe to purchase as a blind buy? Unfortunately, I've only had the opportunity to smell AHS and BdC. However, I've only heard great things about MI.

MI for sure. One of the best summer scents.

Why would it bother you if someone mistook your GIT for Cool Water? As long as you like the smell who cares. BTW GIT smells 10x better than Cool Water.

Thanks for the feedback guys. But back to my previous question -- would it be a safe blind buy?
& would it be good for a college student?

MI by a million miles, but no blind buy is ever guaranteed to hit the spot. I'd still sample first.

It's about as safe a blind buy as you'll find for a 100$ plus fragerance. It's also suitable for almost anyone, certainly for a college student.

Wear MI and people will think you are wearing Sean John Unforgivable

LOL, I've heard this one before. That's what worries me. Why pay $100+ when I can spend 1/4 of that to smell the same to others? Surely I'll be the only one who can tell the difference..

    Touché.

You're going to pay around $150 online for a 4oz bottle, at that price I don't think there is a safe blind buy. It is a fairly well liked fragrance, but try and sample it first.

Why buy a Rolex when you can get a "Bolex" for $10?
Why buy real Oakley's when you can get fakes for a fraction of the cost?
Why buy Cool Water when you can get the dollar store "our version of cool water" for a buck?

As much as GIT/Cool Water and MI/Unforgivable are compared to one another, the 2 Creeds are on a whole other level quality wise.

So true, to people who have smelled hundreds of fragrances, GIT and MI are on whole different tiers. There are always going to be knockoffs and imitations of everything, but when you go to bed and wake up everyday, you know what you're using and you'll appreciate the quality products that you have paid for. And in due time, you will quite easily be able to tell the difference between true luxury items and knockoffs.

Just don't like MI. At all.

Why do you NEED to decide between these scents only?

Honestly they're all good, just get samples and then YOU decide.

If I had to choose, I'd get Bleu de Chanel for starters. You really can't go wrong with that for a good summer frag.

Lasts long, smells fresh, great for college students, and you'll get tons of compliments.

I'm going to go against the majority here and say AHS and BdC. If they all three were against each other, I'd take MI. But the fact is you can get both BdC and AHS so that would be my vote. All three are solid fragrances though, I'd probably side with MI if it had the proper longevity.

LOL. Now Chanel fragrances are comparable to Dollar store knockoffs. The Creed snobbery gets a bit ridiculous at times.

No Creed snobbery here. My comparison was between GIT and Cool Water, nothing to do with Chanel.

GIT does not smell enough like CW to avoid buying it, IMO. Especially when it can be had for as little as $73.00 at lilydirect.com.

Price is no longer a good reason not to buy Creed. There are many lesser/popular/common colognes today that are equal to or more than the price you would pay for Creed at the online fragrance discounters.

Buy MI, and never blind buy. All the people in this thread who have said they don't like MI are the perfect example of why you should never blind buy.
Basenotes sales: By Kilian Straight to Heaven, Heeley Coccobello, Many collectible/discontinued CREEDs (Vintage Tabarome, Citrus Bigarrade, Selection Verte), Bond No. 9 Hamptons, Heeley Oranges & Lemons, L'Essence de Cerruti, Balenciaga Ho Hang Club, Reyane Insurrection, numerous popular SAMPLES! http://www.basenotes.net/threads/340...ciaga-SAMPLES!

Yup. All of what he said.

And MI is the best smelling cologne of all time to me, so yeah, I'd say that would win a smell test among the three colognes in this thread.
    Current Top Five:

    1. Creed Green Irish Tweed
    2. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
    3. Hermes Concentre d'Orange Verte
