Default Gucci Pour Homme II or Allure Edition Blanche

    Hey guys,

I am in need of a new spring/summer fragrance.

I first wanted to purchase Allure Edition Blanche. Nevertheless, I found a 100ml bottle of Gucci Pour Homme II for a cheaper price. The problem is that I have never sampled the Gucci and the store that carries it does not have a tester..

Which fragrance whould you pick and why?

Gucci Pour Homme II as it is unequal and you will be hard pressed to find it's like elsewhere.

I definitely prefer Gucci pour Homme II of those choices. It is an extremely well-balanced composition, while I don't care much at all for Allure Blanche.

Edition Blanche. The creamy lemon is great in spring & summer. GPH II is more for a romantic evening. Its awful projection doesnt let anyone smell it on you unless he/she comes extremely close to the point where you applied the fragrance.

You can't go wrong with either and I really, really like Edition Blanche, but GPHII is simply unmatched!!!

Guess I have to sell more of my collection on the marketplace

I own and enjoy both. That being said I prefer Edition Blanche and its performance is far superior to GPH II.

    Spoken like a true Basenoter.

As for the subject matter, I prefer Gucci Pour Homme II over Edition Blanche.

Edition Blanche: too much creamy lemon for me, I don't want to smell like a lemon pie
GPH II, well crafted, balanced, refined, but very poor longevity and diffusion on my skin.
    So...

Surprisingly I have a soft spot for AEB -- pretty well put together imo -- preferable for warmer seasons also.

Allure Homme and all 368 of it's flankers are disgraceful.

Not only do I own both, but I own backup bottle of both (just in case!). That is how much I love both of these.

I voted for the Chanel, simply because you said you were looking for a spring / summer fragrance. I think EB is better for warmer weather. GPHII would probably have been my choice if you said Fall / Winter.

I would never want to be without either myself.

Edition Blanche is not a flanker - except in name. There is very little in common between Allure and the other Chanel fragrances using the Allure name.

GPHII I love, so I am partial and biased... Though, I'd say grab both if you can! You wouldn't be disappointed with yourself

Edition Blanche. I had GPH II but there was a note there that after a few wearings I couldn't stand, had to return it.

Yeah -- it's weird. I find all the other 'Allures' quite repulsive but AEB sort of bucks the trend as a 'stand-alone'.

Gucci PH II disappointed me quite a bit, I sold my 100 ml bottle after 5-6 wearings.

i got 4-6 hours longevity from it, and that was - to my surprise - good, since I disliked the ginger note I got from it, almost a bit similar to the ginger note I got from YSL L'Homme Libre, a frag I also sold ASAP.

Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche is a master piece - and if it were bottled as a niche frag, far more basenoters would rave about it.....trust me

The 'aura' that surrounds you wearing Allure Blanche is unmatched. Great elegant scent for spring/summer. On the other hand, if it wasn't the low projection of GPHII, I would certain recommend both.
