The two most recent discontinuations are Vetiver Pour Elle and Iris Ganache. Parure was a great one discontinued several years ago. Also Guet-Apens (and the reissue Attrape-Coeur).

I think a number of the Acqua Allegoria line have been discontinued, primarily the earlier ones, but I don't remember which. You could probably find out via a web search. I also believe that the flankers to Samsara, Un Air de Samsara and Samsara Shine, were discontinued years ago. Then of course there are the very old fragrances from the early 20th century which were discontinued a long time ago.

If I were able to add one it would probably be Djedi.

I think My Insolence was recently discontinued as well.

Habit Rouge EdC was discontinued about a year or two ago - when the new box style came out, I think.

As for other d/c'ed Guerlains ...

Apres L'Ondee and Chant d'Aromes parfum were discontinued a while back, as were the EdCs of Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue, Vol de Nuit, Jicky, and several others.

    Ode was discontinued completely.

There have been dozens of others going back further.

Djedi is the one I want as well.

I'm beginning to get concerned that Homme L'Eau may have been discontinued and replaced by Boisee. Could anyone confirm or deny this?

It's become very hard to find.

    PdT-s (jicky, mitsouko, shalimar etc).

Philtre d'Amour, Attrape Coeur & Vetiver Pour Elle are three that I made a point of backing up before they went.

Iris Ganache was also a recent discontinuation, but not a personal favourite.

Given the restrictions on key ingredients my suggestion would be, if it's one you really like just buy lots.

P.S. Re Question 3 - I think if there were one discontinued Guerlain I would like to own it would be Sous le Vent as it might have been when released in the 30's. The current EDT is great (all things considered) but I'll bet the original was a ballsy chypre with those breezy light garrigue notes on top.

I think they just started calling them EdPs. Well, not "just" - they also crappified them to some extent.

I still have two bottles of Jicky pdt hoarded away.

Philtre was a limited release for Valentines Day and released again the following year. It only cost £19!!!!!! Then they released in the boutique range and the price unbelievable.

Yes, many of the AAs went quickly Winter Delice in a few months, I managed to get it for £12 in a sale. But it was worthy of being still in the range.

So many have been discontinued, but they keep creating more and more new ones and flankers, it's quite the factory.

Anyone have a bottle of Vol de Nuit Evasion to spare?

My bottle of Jicky PdT is considerably different from my EdP. Similar concentration, but quite a bit different formula. The PdT emphasizes the bright aromatics and civet, while the EdP emphasizes the vanilla and smoother elements more.

I found SLV quite pleasant, balanced, moderately feminine, and very classic.

The best thing about those discontinued EdCs were the beautiful circular bottles! I bought one just because it's beautiful -- the only time I've ever done that.

Two of the Aqua Allegoria's that were sadly discontinued are : Winter Delice and Grosellina. Try samples of these if you can. They are vastly superior to many of the current AA's, which IMO have become like the Bath & Body Works line of Guerliain - inexpensive cheap ingredients that appeal to the masses.

The #1 discontinued Guerlain I would add to my wardrobe is Djedi. I was super lucky to have been able to sample it and give it a full wearing once and it blew my mind. I will never look at vetiver the same way again. Amazing stuff.

That's the one that doesn't feel like a crappy version of the PdT. I actually prefer the EdP most of the time.

Oh, one more disco'd Aqua Allegoria I forgot about that's fantastic: Flora Nerolia. Miles away better than their inferior Jasminora. I think it's one of 30 Roses favorite scents, if I remember correctly.

I think MonkeyBars summed up the differences nicely.
I can see why someone would prefer the EdP of Jicky, but for me, the PdT has a rawness ( especially in that opening blast of civet ) which is pure catnip. Even the current extrait pales.

As for Djedi, what most astounded me was just how mutable it was - like half a dozen different perfumes in one. Not sure I'd buy a bottle even if it were in production, but it certainly held my attention for the duration.
