If you find it's a bit much you can try VIP by Usher.

I like Fahrenheit, but I don't think that its originality alone makes it a masterpiece. It is just a nice perfume, in my opinion. Not in my top 25. No way.

Still an excellent, unique fragrance. Distinctly masculine, but doesn't go with the crowd. Both rebellious and lovable.

My bottle is relatively recent. Love it. I've been complimented a few times by women when wearing it. I do think it's a masterpiece. 25 years after launch, it still smells unique and modern. That's pretty impressive. And, on me, sillage and longevity are outstanding.

The vintage version is a genuine powerhouse beast (in the positive sense), overwhelmingly masculine yet also maturely classy.
Not so familiar with its reformulations, but I liked or at least was not indifferent, neutral about or disliking the vintage version.

    Like vintage, don't like new.

I've only sniffed the current version, and I don't have a bottle.

But I do have to say that I liked it a lot because it smelled different. And between Fahrenheit and Dior Homme, Dior makes some excellent - and unique - men's scents that are very accessible (I sniffed both at a Sephora inside Penney's, which can be found in most larger JCP stores) and can hold their own against niche fragrances.

    2) New York - Nicolai
    3) Terre d'Hermes
