Default Seeking masculine Fruity, but not too sweet

I'll try to explain what I'm hoping to find and I'd love recommendations to check out:

I want a fragrance that is masculine dominated by fruit with a bit of spice but more fruit than spice, not too sweet, and definitely not candy-sweet. To me, Chanel AHS is a candy-sweet fruit scent, so it's more of an example of what I'm not looking for (though it is quite good). And I'd probably like it to be less sweet than Hanae Mori HM (which I own and enjoy). That one also leans toward the candy-sweet side.

Maybe I'm looking for something more along the lines of dried fruits rather than juicy? I don't know. Maybe with woods. Maybe not. Maybe with musk? Maybe not. I just know I'm looking for a masculine fruit smell with a bit of spice and not too sweet. I'm looking for a scent that doesn't lean too young, but still smells modern.

I have a Sephora gift card on the way, so designer recommendations would be especially welcome, though that's not a requirement at all.

    ...thoughts?

Wow this is tough, especially if you find Chanel Allure Homme too candy sweet

Aoud 1? Though I find that sweeter

I own John Varvatos. I enjoy it very much. But I'm hoping for something more dominated by the fruit than JV. I also own Aventus, which for me is a like but not love.

I updated my original post to say that I'm looking for a scent that is dominated by the fruit. London is a great scent, but it's all about the spices.

Try the green mango in Jardin Sur Le Nil. By Hermes. It is pure masculine fruit.

How about Pure Havane? It has a cherry note that may fit what you want. It may be too sweet, though.

It's hard to imagine a not-too-sweet fruit dominant masculine.

Check out Clinique Happy as JiveHippo suggested if you like orange.

Well I was going to 2nd the recommendation from JiveHippo for Egoiste (the original, NOT Platinum Egoiste) because it's all about those stewed fruits/sandalwood spices, but perhaps it's not as fruit-dominant as you want.

Have you tried Pulp by Byredo, Bahiana by MPG or Aqua Allegoria Grosellina by Guerlain. They're all mega-fruity.

Sephora in the States doesn't have a big choice. Hard to think about something. Dior homme intense has a lot of stewed fruits, but I don't think it is found at Sephora. Kenzo Flower, which is on the feminine side, has canteloupe, and was molded on an old masculine, Royal Bain de Caron. Chanel Egoiste, as mentioned, also has candied fruit notes with the woods, but again, it is not sold at Sephora.

If you go into niche, Lutens is the king of candied fruits, so it certainly has something that would do. Anything from Arabie (bitters, spices, and fruits), Feminite de bois (woods and fruits), or, in the exclusives, stuff like El Attarine (fruits, spices, and flowers) and Boxeuses (fruits and leather).

Have you tried Beyond Paradise Men? Fruity transitions into woody. It's a nice summer fragrance.

I forgot about bahiana. It is a very natural fragrance and it has coconut in it. If you like the tropics, you will like Bahiana.

If you're open to niche, then Bahiana and Assolo by Calè would make good options as well.

Happy for me by Clinique is one I've loved for years. If only it lasted. It has the shortest longevity of anything I own. It's all top notes that want to evolve into a base that isn't there, which is a shame since it smells so good.

How about ORANGE with a little bit of something more. Most of these have a healthy dose of woods with them, usually pettitgrain but they all take these beyond the fruit to something else. High Recommendations for:

Parfum d' Empire Azemour les Oranger is big orange with a huge list of other stuff in it - 5 stars.
Ramon Monegal Entre Naranjos is also another really good orange scent w/ petitgrain + patchouli
The Different Company blends a dry tangy orange with carrot, cardamom, leather = Sienne d' Orange

Buzzlepuff, those orange suggestions sound great! I'm wearing Happy today for this first time in years. I'm only 3 hours into it, but I'd completely forgotten just how much I enjoy it.

Maybe check out Style in Play by Lacoste. A nice, fresh apple opening with a light, white musk and leather drydown. It's slightly sweet and wears a little "young," but it's very enjoyable in warmer weather with decent sillage and lasting powe.r
