    Default Booze, smoke and leather

For a date with a girl who really loves the smell of all three.

    Go!

Are you asking for a favorite fragrance of each or one that includes all three?

In the sense that said girlfriend likes the smell but correctly hates the behavior? Perfumery comes to the rescue.

The following contain some combo of the three, but in vastly different amounts. For predominantly leather, Bandit (s&m inclinations), Knize Ten (classic, automotive); for predominantly smoke, Patchouli by Le Labo (chemical explosion, not cigarettes). For booze, Lubin Idole (sophisticated rhum drinker).

Supposedly, L'Air de Rien also does the bad boy (or girl) thing, but on me it doesn't last very long.

Just so happens that I just sprayed on some Tom Ford Extreme for the first time, and I'd say it covers all three pretty nicely.

I just ordered a bottle of this a couple of days ago... I am hoping it covers the booze, smoke and leather quite nicely.

I have dirty English that I also love but I think it is more of a sweet booze and leather minus the smoke.

Thanks guys. keep the ideas coming. I have a number of these or have sampled them. (Love Michael Kors, Tom Ford Extreme, Bandit, Knize Ten, Patchouli 24, all great scents) Am going to get Idole de Lubin. I literally put that on my test list yesterday. Will look into Fougere Bengale, Atelier d'Artiste and Bois d'Ombrie too.

Idole is good stuff, but I don't get much smoke. Patchouli 24 definitely has smoke and booze, but I'm not sure about the leather...I like it, but I'm not sure I'd wear it on a date! Michael is definitely good and very wearable, and so far I'm feeling the same about Tom Ford Extreme. For a date, I'd definitely reach for either.

Cartier Treizieme Heure. Maybe a little light on the booze. If it isn't exactly what you're looking for, it's damn close.

Not very smokey but fits the booze and leather very well. Idole isn't very smokey either imo.Booze in Bandit?? Interlude Man -- leather??.

Think I'm beaten for all 3 in one -- maybe Pure Malt as already mentioned?

I bought Cuir Velours on the weekend - beside the crappy atomiser (should a frag that cost me $175 for 50mL leak a little down the atomiser when you spray?), it is a quality leather fragrance, and very different from the uber-leathers I currently own.

Drink whiskey on the rocks, enjoy your smoke of choice, wear a leather jacket, and splash on some Old Spice. There you have it.

  46. #46

Default Re: Booze, smoke and leather

I second/third/whatever the suggestion of Idole.
Cuir Ottoman is quite boozy up front, then settles down to a very soft leather, but there's no smoke. Leather Oud has delicious smoke, and dries down to a rich honeyed leather; not so boozy, though. It's very dirty and raunchy - if those two are part of yor game plan? ;-)
