Prada Amber Intense
I have a $40 gift card to Sephora and would like to purchase one of the two. Which of the two would you purchase? No specific occasion, just an everyday scent (I don't believe in different fragrances for different seasons, times of day, weather etc. so those are not factors).
I've tried both and can't decide between the two. Price, weather, occasions, etc. are not factor.
Based on overall smell, which would you guys take if given the option.
Just an overall vibe:
Prada - nice and clean
Dior Homme - sexy and yummy

Mark me down for Prada.
Even though I much prefer Infusion d'Homme, my dislike of the cosmetic/iris note in DH means the Amber Intense wins by default.
I'd love to smell DH with the iris substituted for immortelle.
Dior Homme wins here for me. I didn't find the Prada Intense to be all that interesting while Dior Homme is pretty unique and of great quality. Although, between a choice of the original Prada Amber and Dior Homme I'd pick Prada.

I tried Prada several times, I just never understood the appeal.
I've tried JdP but will definitely seek out Sables when I'm next at a stockist. I really like the immortelle in the Cuir Velours I bought recently, and would like to explore the note further. It's just a shame that Mink has rocketed up my 'to buy' list.
No worries Tim.
Thanks everyone, I've been leaning more towards the Dior as well.
I recently purchased a bottle of Issey Miyake from a member here. He was kind enough to include a few samples. While opening the box something smelled really nice. Turns out the Prada Intense sample he sent me had leaked inside, and made the box smell good. I've been eyeing the stuff ever since.
Dior Homme does not do it for me. Prada amber intense is pretty good though and in my collection.
1. Amouage Epic man
2. Dior Leather Oud
3. Perris Monte Carlo Oud Imperial Black
4. Le Labo Patchouli 24
5. Amouage Opus VII
6. Byredo Bullion
7. Norma Kamali Incense
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
Although I own and love both, for overall scent it has to be the Dior Homme.
My current top 10 (subject to change) in no particular order:
Rive Gauche Pour Homme, Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque, Armani Prive' Nuances,
Armani Prive' Bois d'Encens, Ermenegildo Zegna Indonesian Oud, Essenza de Zegna, Amouage Beloved Man, Fahrenheit Le Parfum, Dior La Collection Couturier Vetiver, and Rasikh Syed Junaid Alam.
Out of these two, Prada Amber Intense
I'd go with Dior Homme.
Neither appeal to me, but of the two I find the Prada more wearable so I voted for that one.

I have and like them both, but I've really become smitten with Prada Amber Intense. Layering it with the regular Prada Amber pour Homme is very, very nice. Since the Prada is apparently a limited edition, I'd recommend getting it while it's still available.
For swap/sale: Vintage MPG Santal Noble, vintage Tiffany for Men, 1 Million Absolutely Gold, 1 Million Intense, Bentley Intense, Prada Amber pour Homme DELUXE version, Loewe Pour Homme, Pure Malt 2013, Floris Vetiver, vintage YSL Rive Gauche pour Homme, Dior Homme Intense, M7 gel, Roma (women's), Spicebomb, Obsession, others...
Like them both.
I like both but voted for Prada out of sympathy for its day in the stocks.
Amber might be a better work scent but as that wasn't an issue for you it's definitely Dior homme in my book.
Thanks for your input, everyone!
I sprayed the two, one on each hand to compare them. Interestingly enough, the two seem very similar to me. Dior Homme did appeal to me more though. My one concern is that Prada Intense is a limited edition as someone mentioned, so I'm worried that if in a year I want to purchase it I'll have to shell over $100+ for a 100ml bottle. Maybe I'll just buy both
Dior Homme is all kinds of alright...total jailbait
I don't like any of the Prada line, which smell very fakey synthetic to me. Dior Homme is a winner; I don't crave it every day, but every time I wear it I'm happy.
Current Top Five:
1. Creed Green Irish Tweed
2. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
3. Hermes Concentre d'Orange Verte
4. Bond No. 9 New Haarlem
5. Creed Original Vetiver
I actually believe the same thing barclaydetolly, but Amber Intense smelled really nice for some reason.
Ultimately I went with DH.
Amber Intense is a competitor to DHI
Amber = Dior Homme
I could do with out Amber, but I want the Intense version and will probably purchase it before Dior Homme.
Current Top 5:
2. Oud Wood
4. By. Kilian A Taste of heaven
5. Frederic Malle- Musc Ravageur
Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense hands down for me, although not in the slightest bit surprised that the masses all went for DI, as it's the 'safer' option.
Prada Intense is such an underrated fragrance IMO. Dark, mysterious, 'perfumey', clean and unlike any men's fragrance I have smelled - truly unique in my view.
Nonetheless, enjoy your bottle of DI!

Thanks again for the input everyone.
L'Homme Blanc, I did have both on for a few hours. I liked them both and honestly couldn't decide. I went with Dior Homme since I was able to find a large bottle for a fairly low price.
Often, when debating between two scents I like, the decision only becomes clear AFTER six to eight hours.

dior homme without a doubt
